Celestials Respect Thread - Power of the Space Gods!

No Caption Provided

A lot of people troll how these guys are featless and they do not deserve to be on par with Galactus. That is totally not true. This guys are just as powerful, if not overall more powerful than Galactus. And I am not talking about guys like Tiamut the Dreaming Celestial (close to Fulcrum), Scathan the Approver (above Living Tribunal), Exitar the Exterminator (Multi Universal) or One Above All (unknown power set). No, I am talking about standard Celestials who operate on standard level known to their race. I will not focus on their Origin but feats only.

====================================================

Respect

As stated in the comic, before Celestials came to be, characters like the Watcher, Grandmaster, Stranger and Galactus were at peak of Power in Marvel Universe when we talk about Physical Spectrum. But it clearly stated that Celestials are on greater level.

No Caption Provided

It is even stated that Kubik himself, is not as powerful as well known Celestials or he may at least be on their level (however it is unknown is this about full hosts or single Celestials but it is clearly weaker than Exitar).

No Caption Provided

However, there was a point where both Kubik and Cosmos were judged by an unnamed Celestial.

No Caption Provided

Is this the actually evidence that any Celestial is above Kubik or is it just this Celestial who is very well above them is unknown but it stands to reason that Kubik is weaker than full Hosts.

=====================================================

Celestials gained respect from Mighty Galactus himself. When Thanos gained Heart of the Universe and everyone in the Multiverse started to fight him, because everyone, even the Living Tribunal, in inferior to him, he attacks everyone he wants and ignores the ones he does not attack. So he uses his powers of true Omnipotence to one shot a Celestial. Because if this, Galactus is in shock which really says something.

No Caption Provided

Yes I am aware that it took place on an alternate reality but it is 100% identical to 616 before Heart of the Universe even came to play and no evidence that there is difference in power level.

Debunking Celestials "Durability" - Durability Track Record and Jarnbjorn

There is that stupid argument where Celestials are not that strong because they have been hurt by force that is not even close to someone like Galactus. Look at this scan first.

No Caption Provided

You will see that the combined might of Odin, Zeus and Vishnu can't even affect Arishem. What people forget to say is the fact that narrator said that that blast was was powerful enough to sent a world (world/planet) out of it's orbit. This proves how this is not a feat of durability for the Celestials at all but CIS for Odin. Now, look at the scan below...

No Caption Provided

In first two scans you see Exitar, a Celestial more powerful than all of the 4th Host, getting his head damaged by Thor with Belt of Strength. Thor on his own can destroy planets and belt of strength doubles his strength. That kind of blow busted his head open.

However, there are showings like bloodlusted Thor punching and attacking Celestials with their blows and energy attacks which by showing, can destroy planets. They were not hurt. There is also Exitar's armor not even being affected by planetary explosion as well as Odin punching a Celestial in Destroyer Armor which narrator stated was capable of dropping the planet out and he was not hurt. I will not be posting these scans because they only prove how durability of Celestials is inconsistent.

What this means?

It means Celestials are inconsistent when it comes to durability. Their durability depends from writer to writer and overall can be damaged by anything between Herald and Skyfather.

Does that mean they are not as nearly as powerful as they think and those beings can kill them?

No, not at all. Armors of Celestials are not part of their body. As explained by Nathaniel Richards, Celestials are connected with the Hyperspace and their armors only allow them to function in space and time easier as well as contain their energies. Therefor damaging their armors does not hurt them at all. When they got their Armors damaged, they simply regenerate it. Look at these scans:

No Caption Provided

After Johnny used Cosmic Control Rod to amp his powers to much greater levels, he totally destroyed the shoulder the one of the Mad Celestials which almost separated his arm out of his armor. The only thing that happened is, it started to regenerate.

=========================================================

Above I posted Thor busting Exitar's helmet. Three panels after Exitar was not seen until 3th panel and he was seen with his head completely fine and regenerated.

No Caption Provided

There was even an instance where Odin used the combined power of Destroyer Armor and Odinsword to cut off the arm of one of the Celestials from the 4th Host Nezzar. The only thing that happened is that he outright regenerated his arm on the while without any damage or discomfort.

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2

===================================================

There is also an instance from Uncanny Avengers where Jarnbjorn, an Uru Axe enchanted by Kang wielded by Thor which is capable of cutting the Celestial armor. Thor used it to cut the throat of Exitar and Apocalypse Twins used it to cut the head of unnamed Celestial which is similar in appearance to Arishem the judge.

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2

I do not have a problem with Jarnbjorn cutting the Celestial Armor. What I do have a problem with is the fact that it killed them. Yes both of those Celestials died in that story. It is nothing more than incredible PIS/CIS/WIS. Why? Because it happened two times in the same story while I have three instances that happened in three stories. Not only Celestials regenerating themselves more times that they did not, put three writers wrote them as beings capable of regenerating them while only one writer killed Celestials with their armor being damaged.

That same writer wrote Exitar nerfed as hell. They created a force field that stopped him from standing on Earth to destroy it. Why the hell would Exitar stand on Earth to destroy it? He has billions of ways to do it and yet not only he tries to do it in the worst way possible but he was actually held of by force field which was supported by the Hulk. Add to the fact that the Jarnbjorn made nothing more than cosmetic damage to the Destroyer Armor, it did not made the real damage. And later I will prove (like I have to) how Celestials >>> Destroyer.

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3

In Conclusion:

Celestials are not as durable as people think. They can be easily damaged by Skyfather level beings. Fact is, that does not affect them at all, only their armor which does not hurt them. Add to the fact that they can regenerate their armors ignoring inconsistency and PIS/CIS/WIS shown in Uncanny Avengers.

=======================================================

Now that I explained the misconception of Celestial's "durability/vulnerability" lets move on to the main event.

=======================================================

Feats

While this information was never really clear or explained in detailed way, it appears that Celestials were there at the beginning of the Universe and they created Life and Death but because they could not control the forces of Death, they separated the Universe into the Multiverse in order to trap those beings there.

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2

We are not aware who these Celestials are (looks like the 4th Host) and how many of them have done this but it appears that a certain number of Celestials, without counting those beyond any standard level, can very well be considered Multiversal.

======================================================

While the prerformance between 3 Skyfathers and Arishem the Judge was full of CIS, it does not change the fact that Arishem blasted a force so powerful that it could easily shut down/destroy/cut off the passage between their realms and Earth forever. Considering the fact that those are times when Odin was actually wise and not arrogant jerk like now, all three Skyfathers, while their blast was nothing compare to what they can do, they see that they are outclassed and they surrender.

No Caption Provided

=====================================================

After a long fight, even after boosting his power with all of Lifeforce from Asgardians (minus Thor) while at the same time taking the Odin Sword and wearing the Destroyer Armor, Odin, while holding his own very well considering that he was fighting the whole Host more or less,he still gets obliterated by the Celestials rather easily.

No Caption Provided

After Thor threw the Odin Sword at Arishem, while it pierced him, it did not affect him at all, and he easily crushed the sword without even trying and sought out to kill Thor.

No Caption Provided

To provide some context, here is an explanation on the Odin Sword. Pretty self-explanatory here.

No Caption Provided

=========================================================

Celestials's manipulation over time and space is top tier. Here, Tiamut manipulates time and space on such a large scale (scan 1) that not only it affects other realities but it is shifted and changed/warped even after Timaut's influences on that Universe (scan 2, 3, 4).

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3Gallery image 4

As explained by Doom, this is indeed Tiamut warping reality on such a large scale.

No Caption Provided

Now this is Tiamut before he started to feel emotions which means that this is before he was freed from Fulcrum's influences and did not serve him anymore, AKA before he was close to his level of power.

============================================================

Ashema, one of the Celestials, brought Loki to the edge of Eternity in subspace. In other words, Ashema teleported herself and Loki beyond the scope of time and space with ease and she did that without her Armor.

No Caption Provided

======================================================

Ashema preformed one of the most insane feats of power ever. She actually absorbed, all of the Universe (infinite amount of time, space, matter and energy) into her armor and sent all of her energy/being into that absorbed Universe/reality and took the form of a female.

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3

======================================================

While not fully preforming the feat, it is obvious that the Celestials were threatening to destroy Franklin's Universe, making Celestials Universal busters.

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2

======================================================

The same Tiamut who warped reality faced of against Arishem the Judge in which chase he totally obliterated him (however he did not kill Arishem although it is unknown did he want to do so). However, it does not take more than three Celestials to not only defeat Tiamut, but to imprison him on Earth for billions of years.

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3

======================================================

Finally we are going to the most impressive feats of Celestials yet during Hickman's run on the Fantastic Four.

I just want to point out that I used a lot of feats of the Mad Celestials and literally every feat know is preformed by Mad Celestials and the reason why I posted those scans is because Jonathan Hiskman, the writer of the story and the creator of the Man Celestials are equally powerful to 616 Counterparts. But because there is not lowshowing of those versions, we can very well say that this statement is very well valid as there is no argument against it.

No Caption Provided

========================================================

Reed used the power of the Ultimate Nullifier to try to kill the Leader of the Mad Celestials. It did not work at all.

No Caption Provided

That same device is very well capable of killing Galactus (or at least Galactus who was fed to some degree). It was shown in the story "Comming of Galactus" where we saw Galactus being shocked and afraid of the UN as it is capable of killing him and in "Abraxas" story Abraxas wanted to use the UN to kill Galactus. Galactus himself used the UN to destroy the Universe (ask for any scans in comments if you want) yet it did not affect the Leader of the Mad Gods/Celestials.

When the Mad Celestials fused the three of them plus the armor of dead Celestial, they combined into one huge and OP Celestial. Then Reed used a device called Sol's Anvil which should kill a Celestial. However the only thing it does is it separates them, leaving only three of them again and the destroyed armor of the dead fourth Celestial there.

No Caption Provided

This is impressive because Reed clearly stated that he used Sol's Anvil to kill the Beyonder.

No Caption Provided

Of course he is obviously talking about Retconed Beyonder, the one who was either a Living Cosmic Cube or Mutanted Inhuman who was far from being Omnipotent and is below Eternity.

=========================================================

When Galactus was ready to face the Celestials, he himself was aware of their power and the event is so huge that he needed to show up (ask for scans if you want). It was so drastic even for him that he consumed 4 worlds. Yes he consumed 4 planets not to sustain himself but to amp himself just for this fight.

No Caption Provided

Right after that, Galactus was fighting four Mad Celestials and he killed one of them (without damaging his armor at all, just killing him). When they saw how much of a threat Galactus is, they combined into one Celestial (that scan I'm missing) and they literally one shotted Galactus who consumed 4 worlds.

Gallery image 1Gallery image 2Gallery image 3

When people asked Hickman why the Celestials merged he clearly said (self-explanatory):

No Caption Provided

So he was fed on 4 planets and they saw that if they fight him they will take a lot of damage and will be in trouble so they decided to fuse and one shot him. People actually asked Hickman what will happen if they did not merge. Who would win? This actually answers the question on who would win as there are 4 Celestials there (one was killed) and Galactus consumed one planet for each one of them. When he was asked could Galactus beat the Celestials if they did not merge, he said no.

No Caption Provided

Clearly those two statements prove that the only reason why the Celestials merged is because they did not want to take too much damage and go through so much trouble but by Hickman's words, they would win anyway. Considering the fact on how fast one Celestial was taken down and that the three remained while Galactus consumed 4 worlds (he should lose at least some of that energy for one shotting one of the Celestials), show us how Celestials are actually, at least Mad Celestials, are above Galactus.

However not all of these Celestials are on the same league/power level as when Franklin resurrected Galactus and turned him into his Herald, he also amped him to the point where Galactus one shotted Yellow Celestial with ease. However, when he faced the Leader of the Mad Gods (red one), he totally ignored his blast and then made a counter attack on Galactus which hurt him and made him scream a bit.

No Caption Provided

On the next panel it was Franklin who took him down as Galactus was not capable of doing so even tho Franklin clearly ordered him to attack. So even tho not all three of those are on the same level, it just makes that feat even more impressive right? As it would be mostly red one beating Galactus who was fed on 4 planets.

Conclusion - How powerful are the Celestials?

Ignoring the likes of Tiamut, Scathan, OAA, Exitar and that unnamed blue one who judged Kubik and Cosmos and leaving out feats like creating the Multiverse out of Universe without any explanation or context, it still proves how Celestials are one of the most powerful beings in the Marvel Multiverse. They dwarf Skyfathers in power, they are top tier reality warpers and time and space manipulators, they arguably can destroy the Universe, they are capable of absorbing entire Universes and leaving their armors, and are even above amped versions of Galactus by pure showing and are fully capable of regenerating and surviving without their armors.

My only comment other than good job collecting a lot of info on them is that when Reed referenced using Sol's hammer to kill a Beyonder it seemed he was referencing one of the Beyonders behind the incursions rather than the Beyonder who most people associate the title with. Maybe someone could clarify who exactly who he was referring to in that scan.

@spambot: Reed stated he is from Earth 5202 which means he is talking about Beyonder Cosmic Cube because the Beyonders are not from the Multiverse or any Universe in it. They are beyond. Also Sol's Hammer was used to destroy other Earths during the Incursions. The device Reed used to wipe out a Beyonder from Earth 5202 is Called Sol's Anvil. Clearly a different thing.

Also thanks.

@krleavenger: by feats odin> most versions of galactus. odin actually had the upper hand while they were fighting, which people conveniently forget. also whose enchantment killed exitar (who is > a whole host) and also killed another celestial? odin's that's who. there are certain celestials odin could lose to, probably the big red one, but overall odin> most celestials.

@asgardianbrony: Did you even read a comic and my Respect thread? I clearly stated how Jarnbjorn killing a Celestial is nothing more than PIS/CIS/WIS and not because I complain but because of abilities and consistency. Do you think that is Wolverine would kill the Hulk with his claws by chopping his brains out would kill him? No because if Wolverine would kill the Hulk it would be PIS/CIS/WIS. Same goes for Celestials. Read my debunking durability part.

Also Jarnbjorn is uru axe upgraded by Kang. The only thing it has to do with Odin is that it is made of Asgardian metal and it was useless against Apocalypse until Kang uprgaded it.

Odin never had the upper had against Galactus. They were evenly matched in telepathy until they headbutted and Galactus was fine. Odin even said he no longer had energy to fight Galactus in psionic fight. NO evidence Galactus would lose.

Odin also does not have better feats than either of the Celestials or Galacuts. He never destroyed the Universe.

I did read it and I don't by it. you know why? firstly, the axe was specifically enchanted by thor (using one of odin's spells) to kill celestials therefore it obviously negates their healing factor, and if a little enchantment done by thor can kill them odin certainly can. secondly, and this is the most important, how were the mad celestials killed? by energy projection and punches! Odin fights on every plane of existence and has the feats to kill celestials, though I admit he would probably lose to the red one as it took big g and afr to kill it.

Also Jarnbjorn is uru axe upgraded by Kang. The only thing it has to do with Odin is that it is made of Asgardian metal and it was useless against Apocalypse until Kang uprgaded it.

no, from what I remember kang simply tricked thor into enchanting the axe. the enchantment is one only usable by odin or his kin, something to do with their blood.

Odin never had the upper had against Galactus. They were evenly matched in telepathy until they headbutted and Galactus was fine. Odin even said he no longer had energy to fight Galactus in psionic fight. NO evidence Galactus would lose.

odin was awake while galactus was utterly unconscious.

Odin also does not have better feats than either of the Celestials or Galacuts. He never destroyed the Universe.

he reality warped an entire universe, tore at the multiverse, defeated universe destroyers several times, contained a universe ending flame ect.

Odin would beat most celestials one on one, however he would most likely lose to the red mad celestial.

It was not made to kill a Celestial but to pierce their armor. To totally different things. It was clearly stated that it is made to pierce it, not to kill a Celestial. It failed to kill Apocalypse, who is kept alive by his Celestial Armor and healing factor. Add to the fact how Exitar was nerfed there.

Also I think you are forgetting how Odin was manhandled by the 4th Host.

odin was awake while galactus was utterly unconscious.

He was recovering. Odin needed time to come back to the fight and needed Destroyer while Galactus was just fine. Add to the fact that Galactus overpowered Old King Thor.

he reality warped an entire universe,

When? Also not as impressive as outright destroying it.

tore at the multiverse,

defeated universe destroyers several times, contained a universe ending flame ect.

Which outright proves how you see Odin as Galactus equal. Did you forgot how badly Galactus was hurt when Thor hit him? I have 4 more instances where Thor attacked Galactus and he was never as hurt as he was in Mighty Thor run. Add to the fact that Comics outright stated more than once how Galactus is above Skyfathers.

well it did kill them, so we can assume it negated their healing factors.

It failed to kill Apocalypse, who is kept alive by his Celestial Armor and healing factor.

apoc's healing factor is his own mutant ability right? that's probably why he wasn't killed right away.

Add to the fact how Exitar was nerfed there.

how was he nerfed? hulk holding him back with a force field for a while is not what I would call nerfed.

Also I think you are forgetting how Odin was manhandled by the 4th Host.

you and I both know that whole comic was PIS.

He was recovering. Odin needed time to come back to the fight and needed Destroyer while Galactus was just fine. Add to the fact that Galactus overpowered Old King Thor.

the whole fight was just a TP battle in which they were shown as equals, then odin KOed galactus for a while and odin was still awake, odin had the upper hand. also you must remember to judge using the decades of feats available, not just one fight and by decades of feats odin is superior to fed (but not LB) galactus.

When? Also not as impressive as outright destroying it.

Some guy (this Janus) came in contact with terrigen. After that he saw first scan and felt like he was in terrigen for a r'ly long time. He awakened after he saw Celestial with no terrigen cocon around. In real time it was minutes. No medical examinations found anything strange in him. He felt wrong, like something was changing him. And had nightmares - second scan. Later it turn out that he somehow became invisible to inhuman predictor Ulliseus. Kinda that.
