This cover has such a modern look and feel, I'm always shocked to recall it's from 1968.
I have never been a Batman comics fan, but I have this lone issue of LotDK in my collection.
This comic has some unbelievable covers. I'm not generally a fan of this style of character illustration, but the concept is simply amazing.
I am a sucker for good pinks on a comic cover.
I don't like GL one bit, but what an iconic image this is.
Such a striking image. I love when villains cross over from their main nemesis to torture someone else for a change.
I'm already a sucker for covers that are doing a literal break of the fourth wall by showing the cover being destroyed, but the monochromatic coloring on this one seals the deal.
More or less my favorite cover of all time.
Wow.
Not the most impressive cover ever, but I just don't feel like we see foreground elements like the weapons very often and I love the coloring.
Iconic.
An iconic Jim Lee image.
One of Alan Davis's all-time best covers.
I love the light wisps of the psychic effect against the solid wall of flames.
Sure, Land probably traced the whole thing out of a Gothic architecture book. It's still pretty.
A really striking image. It's a pity that it isn't actually a good character model of Hope - she's never depicted as looking like this.
This is a modern classic.
Best Rogue cover ever?
Scarier than Voldemort.
So much to love here! The classic horror vibe. The bold dash of blood against the dark and earth-tone colors, and how it covers his eyes. The shading of the background. It's a shame they had to mar it with so much Marvel junk at the bottom.
Totally irrelevant image, inaccurate facial features, and the horrific 90s red on black title treatment. But, yeah, it's a great cover.
If this had been the cover to the TPB rather than the horrific, confused first issue cover maybe we could have had a volume two. Covers sell comics, Marvel, even collected ones.
Such a classic. Nothing to detract from it except Kitty's scowl.
One of the all-time best Phoenix covers.
I remember being shocked by this Bill Sienkiewicz beauty in the midst of a run of more standard cover fare.
Wow, is this the first ever use of someone on the cover grabbing the logo?
It's a shame this cover has so much junk on it in the original format - the illustration is frame-worthy.
This is so amazing. I don't even have words.
