Stewart captures the essence of the mentor role who's seen enough to not be surprised by his students actions but is concerned enough to always be wary of the consequences of bad guys actions. Plus he feels like more of a match for his Magneto in terms of their ability to sway people to their cause and effect change. LOGAN sort of really hits home because of how powerful and commanding Xavier felt in the first trilogy with even Last Stand's death scene having Xavier "die" appearing completely at peace and in control only for us to see him in Logan old and senile and so out of touch with his self that he doesn't even realize when he's being burden. But even that is broken by powerful moments when he gains his lucidity
Mccavoy's Xavier has to carry more of his franchise by virtue of having more scenes. In term they need him to be less of a figure of authority and more of man without answers searching for them. For a young Xavier that's been fine, but really the last movie and a lot of the trailers for this one have really shown as commanding a presence as Stewart portrays.
Stewarts Xavier makes you think the good guys will be alright. Mccavoys Xavier seems like he isnt too sure what he's doing but is trying his best..
@pyrofn: Lmao, the best part about that being that I definitely was about 2 seconds from throwing Ressurection feats out the window and debating mind control, resistance and a whole bunch of other stuff but backed down because I'm not in the head space to brawl over Rachel's power levels.
@del_torro: Eh, it was a two shot. I'll give you the power gap is established from that issue (Jean resistance to Nova and TPing Rachel out of the sky despite being pressed) and the nose bleed just from detecting Jean's power.
Just the phrasing, since Rachel was able to actually pick up Jean's jumbled thoughts just from being in the same area that she had been projecting to hpurs before. While Cable and Psylocke got nothing at all despite Cerebro and walking right into a psionic Logan.
@supermanthor: Lol you have to really commend them for how hard they worked to get us this way. They took somethin that most of us didnt know or care about and turned it into a symbol of how out of touch and poor their creative was at the time. I mean really you take away QS's mutant roots and Magneto connection and now the only thing connecting the two franchises' is that Storm knew Medusa from her FF days....smh wtf?
