DC Universe: What I'd change... BwhaHaHa!!!

First things first, I'm a Marvel fanboy, so I do not know everything about DC. But I know what I like, so here we go...

List items

  • I’ve never been a fan of the major players in a certain universe forming a team. So I would limit Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, and Aquaman to reserve roles. Instead I would focus on the team dynamic and feature characters that can’t quite hold their own series. Think about the X-Men, they sell like bonkers as a team, but usually cannot hold a solo series. Characters like Martain Manhunter and Hawkman would be the main focus of the team. Basically it would be Jeff Lemire’s Justice League Unlimited with guest appearances from the reserve members.

  • I have no problem with the idea of an Earth 2. I could take it or leave it. I do however love the JSA. They fit together as a team and have some interesting characters.

  • I do not like legacy characters, sidekicks, or multiple characters sharing the same name or mantle. I would eliminate as many of these as possible.

  • I like the idea of only having one Milky Way Green Lantern. Period. I would eliminate the blues, indingos, red, yellow or anything else. Just one Green Lantern. Likely Hal. Then a few more to cover the rest of the universe. Not many. Just a few.

  • Same as above. One Flash. I have no preference.

  • Limit the number of books. Get rid of nearly all the sidekicks. Robin (preferably Damian), Nightwing, and Oracle are fine. Rename Batwoman. She’s her own character.

  • Stick with the core characters from the Wolfman Perez run. Cyborg is a Titan. If the JLA wants more diversity, make new characters.

  • Cover her up a bit more. No romance with Superman. Follow the Azzarello run.

  • I do not like an overpowered Superman. I think his main characteristic should be hope, not strength. I’m okay with Supergirl. She can stick around. Limit “Superboy” to being story about a young Superman.
