I think it looks like a really good movie. Not to mention, very few action films have female leads.

I got to 30 (including sequels) since the 00s, and to be honest I'm only going to be familiar with a fraction of the movies that have come out. The total in that period must be waay into the hundreds, and that's not including horror movies and such (I can think of a few).
Female leads in action movies and TV shows really started picking up steam during the 1990s.
I'm not saying they don't exist, but they are still way less than male. If you want me to make a list of the male action movies that come to my mind from 2002 on, I can assure you it would be several times as many.
Netflix couldn't afford hiring Scarlett Johansson, and I think a lot of people wouldn't like seeing a new actress play her. So a movie would probably be better. I personally think it'd be fun getting a Russian actress to play Black Widow with the accent though.
