Katraya is a genetic experiment created by The Organization to combat mutants and meta-humans by adapting to their powers. She has a highly mutable genetic code and her body is hard wired with Gene Sequence Injectors controlled by voice command or neural impulse. Katraya is able to pick and choose her powers during combat by way of these injections and thanks to her genetic memory trait, she is able to clone skills from known mutants as well. During combat these abilities are exceptionally useful but she pays a great price for them outside of battle. After two hours her gene locked traits wear off along with her skill locks and leave her in a state of extreme pain and nausea for more than an hour. Fully aware of this, Katraya will rarely remain engaged in combat for the full two hour duration once she's made use of her gene lock technology. During combat she will generally abstain from its use until an opponent of suitable ability and skill comes along that requires the use of this technology.
In her natural state Katraya is essentially a mutant with a highly toned athletic body and a razor sharp mind with excellent memory and combat prowess, though she is best with ranged weaponry and prefers high caliber weapons. Katraya spends much of her non-combat time praying and preparing for war. During her time with The Organization she uncovered secret files about The Tyrant and discovered some of his rumored past. Armed with this knowledge she became somewhat of a fanatic and eventually a full fledged worshiper of The Tyrant and his supposed species. She will follow him everywhere and has more than once put her own health in the hands of nothing more than her devout faith.
This faith actually feeds her natural mutant ability, which is the capability to generate a very short lived (3.5 seconds) shield of protective energy around her body that will absorb damage just short of a city busting nuclear weapon. This ability can only be used every fifteen minutes without burning out most of her neural receptors and leaving her comatose. Unaware of her ability Katraya puts it off as the holy protection afforded her by her belief in the Tyrant as a Divine God of ancient times.
Despite all of this, Katraya is still a woman at heart and has the desires and attributes of an ordinary woman, sometimes amplified by her unstable genetics. Though she is driven by her faith in The Tyrant she has her own goals and objectives that are only just now developing. She is twenty four years old and has spent all of that time within the secret confines of various Organization bases under the watchful command of The Inevitable. The outside world is a strange thing to Katraya who wishes to one day see it all (before she helps The Tyrant conquer it) and is likely to lend her services to people besides The Tyrant if it means seeing more of the world while he prepares to strike again.
