What I like about Batman pt. 1

Batman has always been my favorite character in comics and possibly any other medium. I was first introduced to him back when I was 5 and reruns of the Batman 60s tv show would air. There was just something about the character that drew me in immediately. Then shortly thereafter I started watching Batman: The Animated Series. This only further my love for Batman. Eventually I got onto the fact that there were movies of him out which I had to see and there were also other animated shows I watched. It wasnt until around the time that I heard Batman Begins was coming out that I really immersed into the rich history of Batman in the comicbook world. I would research the character and his various allies and villians. I would look up his creators and others people who have left their own marks on him. It was really from Batman that I learned anything about the DCU, Bob Kane, Frank Miller, Denny O'Neil, etc. In looking into Batman, I found what had initially brought me into him: He is a character that set out from a very young age that he would not allow what happened to him to happen to any other person. And with that vow he made, he did everything in his power to become something that would help his goal become a reality. He took the idea of human perfection and broke through that ceiling to become something new. Something entirely different. He had a mission and allowed nothing to get in his way. He is one of the few superheroes who has made himself that way...nothing happened to him by accident, he didnt receive any "special" object, he wasn't some alien being...he was just a human. And its been throughout his history that we have seen how that has helped and hindered him in his quest.
