@Erik: She might have the training, but she certainly lacks the discipline. Back when she was trying to trick her therapist into putting her in a less secure wing in the asylum, she freaked out. Went wild like an animal until she was subdued. When she tried to stop Judgement Day, by killing Dyson it didn't seem like she considered the fact that the company might some data on the subject. If you go by the Director's Cut of T-2 when the T-800 powered down so they can restart it's cpu, she tried to to smash it. Had she succeeded, they really wouldn't have had much of a fighting chance against the T-1000. Most of her actions are very reckless as well. I just feel Ripley would easily outthink and outmaneuver her.

However, I'm unconvinced that Sarah is faster than Ripley.

Aside from that from what I saw, Ripley was a far more clever tactician than Sarah. Sarah was far more reckless and rash, than Ripley.

So has Sarah. The only reason she even fell was because she was going to physically assault whoever came out of that elevator but then it turned out to be the thing that she has a mortal fear of. The reaction was normal and expected. She had no such reaction to the T-1000. It just so happens that the T-800 was wearing the face of the thing that murdered the love of her life and nearly killed her as well. Had it been a terminator with a different face, I doubt she would have done anything different but her terror might have been lessened.

Aside from that I feel Ripley is the more clever tactician. Most of Sarah's action seemed rather Rash, and not thought out.

The mental hospital scene. When she was trying to escape she bumped into the terminator [Arnold]. Upon seeing him she collapsed to the floor and remianed there for several seconds before trying to flee. If he was the enemy, she'd been dead.

After reading what everyone has written, I think Ripley stomps Sarah.

Ripley has a much faster response time than Sarah. Whenever Sarah is endangered she tends to freeze up for several seconds. Ripley would probably take advantage of that and finish her.

Eh. I'm unsure of the idea. Granted you have resources you can now use, but I don't think it's right. I mean apart from what's said do they really learn anything when they have a system that gets them out early?
