I try to avoid that theater. Every time I go the screening is packed with people who talk, look at their bright cell phones, etc.

I like X-Men: DoFP more. I know that's probably a "controversial" answer :P

You would probably love the Alamo Drafthouse cinema in Yonkers, New York then. :)

Not a problem!

Also, which actors do you think should portray Cyber and Omega Red in a live-action comic book movie?

Furthermore, X2 or X-Men: Days Of Future Past?

I've always wanted to go there, it's just pretty out of the way for me. Maybe one day!

Oof, I'm terrible at casting. I'm a pretty firm believer that "there's always someone out there who would do a way better job, and that person is either eluding my mind right now or I don't know them." It's too bad we didn't get to see Wolverine encounter either of them.

X-Men: DoFP.

@brucerogers As in someone waaay above street level? Probably Superman.

Ever been to the Palisades Mall in Rockland County, New York?

Yup, I have! You?

Yes! It has a nice movie theater, good restaurants and some interesting stores.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier or X-Men: Days Of Future Past?

@jwwprod: I was always under the impression that there were strong parallels between SS2 and the original Deus Ex? Or maybe I'm misremembering and people just talking about them together since they're both praised FPS/RPGs?

Yea both the Original Deus Ex and System Shock 2 were comparable (Hell I was even think of making a battle thread with Soldier G65434-2 AKA Gogglesas from System Shock 2 vs JC Denton from Deus Ex) as they were two games that revolutionize the FPS/RPG genre and inspired a lot of current games today, though Ken Levine (The lead designer on both System Shock 2 & Bioshock) has confirmed that Bioshock is a spiritual successor to System Shock, I mean if play both or do research on both you will know there is a lot of similarities between both.

Though fun fact even though System Shock 2 was very well revived by critic commercial wise the game was a total flop, compared to Bioshock which was not only revived universal acclaim but was a very good commercial success. But regardless System Shock 2 is still considered a cult classic and as I said earlier many PC gamers consider it better than Bioshock.

Thanks for the info. I remember feeling like SS2 eluded me when I was younger; it caught my interest because I loved - and still love - the original Deus Ex, but I never got around to it.

If you want you can buy both the Enhanced Edition of System Shock 1 and System Shock 2 on steam for £14.99 or on GOG.com for £16.18.

Thanks for the heads-up.

Your welcome ;)

Here's another interesting thing you should know about System Shock2, one of the Composers for the game's OST was Ramin Djawadi, yea that's right the same Ramin Djawadi who did the OST for stuff like Game of Thrones, Pacific Rim, Westworld, etc.

Here's the game's OST:

Presuming the three wards work as a team, they win. Dick has to be the de facto field commander or they probably lose. He's the only one who would deduce quickly to avoid direct melee combat with Bane at all costs. Given that, they should win.

Thanks for posting on the fight. Given the starting distance and location, what would you say their odds are? And how likely do you think it is that Jason and Damian will listen to Grayson at first?

I rarely read Batman comics. Doesn't current Damian Wayne have superpowers or something?

He does not. That happened briefly during the end of the Batman & Robin run.

wow tough one, I can see it going either way

Cool, glad you're torn on it. If you had to lean in one direction, which side would you go with and why?

@k4tzm4n: well on the team we got a guy who's faster than Batman and incredibly agile

a guy who's been trained by the league of assassins, and has had extensive training that was similar to Batman's before he returned to Gotham.

and a genetically modified child of Batman who was born and bred to become a complete monster.

strategy intelligence wise, Bane is superior but the three are incredibly intelligent fighting wise that they may be ale to close the gap.

why do you think Bane would win?

I don't think Bane would win, but I do think he could win, just like I think the Robins could win ;)
I'll play devil's advocate:

Nightwing: Bane's swiftly defeated him twice already

Red Hood: Bane wrecked him in Batman Eternal

Damian: Sure, he's great, but how will that help him against Bane? What can he bring to this fight that the others do not?

This is such a difficult battle to answer. Bane is a bullet dodger even without Venom. His speed could be the deciding factor here as this is in a semi-enclosed space. Then again speed might not matter in such an arena. It could also inhibit the team as well though I see them using the rafters to their advantage. If anyone can distract bane long enough for the team to pull off something then maybe they could win, but I think Bane on venom still has a chance to overwhelm them. It'd be difficult for Jason to get along with the other two, but if he realizes how much of a threat Bane could potentially be then maybe he'll decide to cooperate long enough to do the job, then takes out the other two while they're weakened.

Glad you think it's a difficult battle to determine and took time to think about how the location can play a role.

Omg K4tz spoke to me. ;-; -froths.-

Heh, thanks again for giving the fight some thoughtful consideration.

You've made a really terrific thread, this is what I've missed from the battle boards; a really detailed OP. Bane obviously has the physical and durability advantages due to Venom but Dick, Damian and Jason have teamwork and gear. Plus they have faced opponents with superhuman strength before and prevailed, however Bane can handle numbers and can also be very tactical and ruthless.

  • Would Damian or Jason getting hit by a vicious attack momentarily distract Dick, leaving him vulnerable for a moment?
  • What happens if Bane's venom intake stops - the fight with Azrael was the first time he suffered withdrawal from the drug, but what about now?
  • How will this environment help either side - how will it hurt them?
  • Will Damian's arrogance mean he'll be the first to fall, or will he be the key to victory by attacking Bane while the foe's distracted with someone else?
  • Will Bane beat Nightwing swiftly just like he did twice before, or will it be different now, especially since he has two allies?
  • How will Jason and Dick's weaponry factor into this fight?
  • Will the good guys work as a team right from the get-go, or will it take some time before they potentially work together?
  • What is the first move everyone makes with a starting distance of 15 feet? Remember, they're all in-character!
  • What advantages does team Robin have? How important are each of those advantages? What are their disadvantages?
  • What advantages does Bane have? How important are each of those advantages? What are his disadvantages?
  1. Definitely, Dick is a caring, kind guy, he's gonna be distracted to say the least if Jason and certainly Damian get critically injured by Bane. I recall Dick being in a similar compromising against Heretic after he killed Damian.
  2. I'm not the most knowledgeable on Bane's Venom withdrawal symptoms in the comics but I imagine he's similar to a junkie who doesn't get his next fix. Unstable, disorientated and tripping out, could leave him vulnerable to a sneak attack.
  3. A closed warehouse room with a decent amount of space and bars for the team to jump to in case they get too pinned on the ground. Bane is not incapable of destroying the environment though so the mobility of the room can only go so far.
  4. Nah Damian is way too cocky. In Nightwing #18 Damian chased after Deathwing for stealing the Batmobile and got shot from behind by Dr Hurt. That kind of cockiness gets you hurt or killed in fights to a much higher degree than approaching the fight carefully.
  5. Dick will last the longest (yeah I said Dick) due to his agility and skill but he doesn't have the best track record against Bane alone so Bane could break the bird.
  6. Dick's sticks and Jason's knives might not be enough to bring Bane down.
  7. These guys do mix about as well as oil and water as they do not always get along. But they do have the potential for really good teamwork due to their training from Batman and their mutual respect for each other. They can only beat Bane by working together with a coordinated attack.
  8. If I had to guess, Dick will leap and perform some kind of aerial attack, Jason will throw knives and Damian will charge in yelling at Bane that he's not so tough.
  9. Teamwork, gear and environmental mobility.
  10. Physicals, tactics and ruthlessness.

Think I'm gonna go with Bane on reflection, the team might win if Jason had guns.

Glad to see someone address the questions I presented in the OP. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts on those.

@the_red_viper: well okay. Jason does the same thing with a C4 charge. Not a fire arm mr picky

Jason still has his "standard gear"... just minus pistols.

With explosives, there's a chance, without them Bane stomps them.

Why do you believe explosives are the only way they can win? Bane has great pain tolerance, but he's certainly not immune to everything the team can dish out. His venom tubes aren't, either ;)

I could make a case for Dick soloing unless Bane's got some upgrades. Team 9/10.

By all means, make that case!

Ooo, this should be good. I'll need to think about this one for a bit.

Thanks! Really appreciate you taking the time to think about how it would play out before picking a side (or saying it's too close to call).
