That OML spread is absolutely incredible. Sorrentino is going to go down in history
But Aang showed far more versatality and far more speed/agility/mobility. And those low end feats you're talking about are because while Aang is jobbbing too much, Tenzin tends to be serious. Not to mention that Aang had way too many battles compared to him. Also worth noting that while this mech feat was great it was charged attack. Aang blocked explosions, destroyed flaming boulders and sent whole stuff flying without any effort.
Aang sending back the boulder was also a charged attack, and it's not even necessarily more impressive than Tenzin's feat.
I really don't agree that Aang had better versatility. Tenzin had far greater ease of use with his abilities. He could use moves like air spout much better, his reactions and sensing are up there. His CQC feats against the Red Lotus IMO show a far greater amount of control over his abilities and attunement with air. That's not even debatable IMO.
Blocking explosions is something that even Korra did, and it's a reactions feat that surpasses anything Aang has done.
You say Tenzin fights serious but he was never shown to try hard aside from his RL fight. The equalist feats looks completely effortless. As for his serious manner, that's just his character.
I think they also tried to make clear that Ozai > Bumi. But they didn't. What they tried tp show isn't what they showed. A bloodlusted Aang would beat him imo just cause Earth is bad against Air. About the holding back, Aang had morals and was totally inexperienced as well.
That was never implied. It's just that the Fire Nation > Earth Empire. And Bumi would beat Ozai, but there's no way that he'd beat a Sozin's Comet Ozai, which is why a firebender like Aang or Iroh would have to.
The amount of effort put in by Bumi in that fight speaks more to what he could do while trying than what Aang could after a few more months of training. Aang was already a master and had the tattoos, it's not like Aang would improve that much by EoS. He might not have been bloodlusted but he was trying for sure.
Everyone was owning him IC with morals. CM is horribly overrated. Litteraly every time he faught them, he had height advantage for a sniping position. In a fair fight, I can think of many people to solo him. Its like people forget about this context.
I may have to watch those episodes again.
Tenzin's portrayal was better. Aang does have more high end feats, but Tenzin has no low feats unlike Aang. Pretty much all of Tenzin's feats are excellent, and his mech busting feat is just as good as any of Aang's raw power feats. Also the way his abilities were portrayed were that he has perfect skill and control, and him being a middle-aged grandmaster implies better ability considering that all of his feats are on the same level as most of Aang's feats, so that plus his accolades puts him above Air Aang.
Bumi blocked all of his attacks with ease and stalemated him while toying with him. Bumi is above Air Aang and that was clearly shown.
CM was owning him, and that was when he had backup.
@anthp2000: He still loses to some higher end benders. Bumi, Tenzin, CM, and possibly Unalaq can beat Air Aang IMO. Now, 4 elements Aang (not jobbing) would beat them, but that's a different story.
@anthp2000: Um, wasn't it you that told me that the boulder feat isn't applicable to combat, that he needs time to charge a FTE sprint, and that Azula would be a good match for Air Aang and has a chance at beating him?
Some issues and revisions:
Shut up nerd
I haven't seen the Force Awakens yet
Does it worry you that I have it so low? It'd worry me
Why is it so low?
This was so bad
@br_havoc: I don't know I felt original sin was one of the more stronger events marvel has done it was defiantly better than axis which was a mess.... I never understood why rick remember couldn't make axis work considering his amazing work with uncanny X-force and uncanny avengers at least he made up for the mess that was axis with rage of ultron.
I can't speak on Axis since I was burnt out by then and skipped that event. I felt Secret Wars has been Marvel's strongest event in last 20 years. Not so much the tie ins but the core story was fantastic
Axis is even worse than AoU and OS, by far. It's just so bad.
Even then it's nothing compared to this disgusting, repulsive, insulting excuse for a Marvel story.
Not only does everyone act out of character (and most of the characters aren't even characterized, we have no idea why they fight for who they fight for) but they kill one of the seminal Marvel characters in the cheapest, worst possible way.
And they have the balls to make a senseless, pointless murder out to be a legitimate source of pathos. Disgusting.
These last issues have made me lose hope for this generation of Marvel. If editorial actually allows this treatment of characters, they definitely do not care about them.
I mean literally, the Guardians show up as freaking MERCENARIES
