@johnrevenge: They should go the DC route and give lesser known characters minis instead of full series.
Well, with Marvel's current idea of seasonal series with constant big changing events and relaunches every six months, nearly all of this series will be practically minis.
@belmonte22: that is also true, Yotat really doesn't seem to bring anything really new in to the table of super villains. He'll probably soon join with the other dime-a-dozen bargain bin baddies in Marvel's sub basement.
As you said Hala is more interesting as she has a focus and a reasoned one, and as you mentioned before, with the proper development (better if another writer works on her) she can become an interesting character.
On the other hand we have Yotat, who only wants to kill destroyers and become a space Kingpin wannabe? It's totally weak. Just looking at his desing (with all those muscles, weapons and visor) and backstory and it seems that Bendis simply looked at old comics of the 90s and picked a couple of bad ideas and 90s topics randomly to create the character. The Universal Church of Truth, Nebula or even Peter's father would have been absolutely better options than Yotat.
@belmonte22: I don't think that Yotat & Hala were bad additions since GOTG does lack original villains but his writing has so afr been very one-dimensional, and thus isn't really interesting or charismatic villain. Honestly his barely above glorified extra IMO.
Hala is slightly more complex; yet, like Yotat lacks personality.
I hope Bendis has the patience to build these villains properly instead of just throwing them there for the heroes to defeat.
IDK I think that there could be better and more interesting concepts and villains than Yotat. Hala is more interesting, true, but I think that comic world would be better without Yotat.
