New X-Men was my favourite series ever written. No contest.

Yeah, it's one of them!

X-Men forever was just terrible.

Even if the Ultimate Universe lost it's way, but the first two dozen or more issues of Ultimate X-Men were great. There were highlights later on too. Brian Wood's run was good.

Carey's run was great on the whole. Very, very good. I really enjoyed the pre-Messiah Complex issues and the post-MC Professor X issues. I do feel it became a bit too much of a Rogue solo book for me around 2009/10, but then it picked up again! Very good.

Gillen's Uncanny was great, but wish he'd had a longer run - i.e. him doing Uncanny post AvX and him doing the Cyclops Revolution.

Really? I don't think there was anything special about it. It wasn't bad, it just wasn't that great. Pretty solid but mediocre. And the best stuff from his run (Messiah Complex) was corroborative.

  1. Morrison
  2. Claremont
  3. Carey
  4. Whedon
  5. Lobdell/Nicieza

Great so far. Land has not been that bad, but I'm sure the book would be more popular if he was not on it.

He's not awful, he's just not that great. And it's a shame as I feel like it brings down the quality of the book overall.

@john_valentine: Ken Lashley's art looks fantastic in the previews for the upcoming issues. I just hope he stays on after Apocalypse Wars.

I agree about the pacing. Everything is so decompressed.

Yeah, it looks really good actually.

My second complaint is that issues seem really short. I guess this is just a problem I have with modern comics on the whole, though.

Yeah, there seems to be few comics out today that takes over five minutes to read.

It's a shame, but I'd rather have shorter and sweeter than longer and lower quality.

That book is so offensively average. Just generic Avengers shit.

I like every member of this team. Most of all, Magneto, however.
