Patriotism

Personally, I'm a big fan of patriotism.  While I value things such as freedom of speech, I think that sometimes young people in America protest just because they can.  I think protesting is a great show of freedom; however, I also think that some people use it a little too liberally and depreciate its true value.  These days, people have to think that they're "pioneers" or "rebels" for something.  The truth is that, most of the time, they can not find something worthy to fight for.

I love my country.  Instead of people focusing on their "rights" all the time, it would be nice to see someone genuinely concerned about their duties.  As John F. Kennedy once said, "It is not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country."  I think that if youth in the USA actually put forth that mindset, then this country would be a much better place and that it would start to go in the right direction.  There's my little rant of the day.

God bless America.
