Hugh Jackman wins Peoples Choice Award for his role in X-Men Origins: Wolverine
According to some comic book fans and online critics Wolverine wasn't a very good film, according to some it was awful, but like we predicted months ago, movie goers and people like us who can take a movie for what it is, loved it.Last night at the Peoples Choice Awards, Wolverine went up against the likes of Christian Bale, Gerard Butler and Shia LeBeouf, and he came out winning the People Choice Award for his role in 2009's smash hit X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Here's the official story from Marvel...
"Wolverine's not only the best he is what he does, he's now also the people's choice.
At last night's ceremony for the 36 th annual People's Choice Awards held at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles, Hugh Jackman took home the trophy for Favorite Action Star on the strength of his work in the lead role of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine." Jackman clawed his way to the top over impressive competition in Christian Bale, Gerard Butler, Shia LeBeouf and Vin Diesel.
Taking to the stage, Jackman claimed Wolverine would hate accepting this award, but he relished it, thanking the fans as well as his family.
The People's Choice Awards are selected by the people via online voting. Marvel would like to congratulate Hugh Jackman and join him in thanking the fans for this honor and for making "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" such a success!"
Proving yet again that critics have no idea what the people really want, what do they want? Well more Wolverine of course and according to Marvel and Fox, they'll get it. A new Wolverine film is in the works with Hugh once again in the lead as everyones favorite mutant with claws. NC
