Good first issue of this series. Cyclops, Storm and Magneto were written well. It was also nice seeing Polaris. I think this series will be one the best books of dawn of the x titles.

I really hope we see more of the summers & grey family interact in this series. I'm still disappointment that we got teen Cable running around. I prefer real the Cable.

Speaking of Scott, Jean and Logan

What I think may be unpopular but I'm going say it anyway. I'm not against a Jean and Wolverine relationship. In fact I want it to happen.

I tell you why, You know the difference between Cyclops and Wolverine. Wolverine would respect Jean, he wouldn't betrayed her. If he did, it would be cause of something out of his control.

Cyclops betrayed Jean Grey, betrayed her with her worst enemy. Worst of all, he didn't care. He didn't feel bad about it when Jean confronted Scott and Emma. Afterwards he was sulking in the hellfire club. He only apologise when Jean was dying in his arms. Let's not forget he was fantasizes with Emma on what he wish his marriage could be like with Jean. Remember Emma was dressed in Jean Phoenix costumed.

Scott doesn't deserve Jean and Jean shouldn't trust him if she gets back with him.

Don't get me wrong, Scott belongs with Jean Grey. there a much better couple than Emma and Scott. Something I talk more about in the future.

I'm not sure what Hickman got planned for Scott, Jean and Logan. It will definitely be interesting.

Your never know, we might have Scott and Emma and Jean and Logan. It will be funny to see how Scott reacts to Logan and Jean. I wouldn't mind Scott dating Polaris either.

Speaking of Logan, wasn't he dating Storm before he die. What going happen with them. Maybe it was just a fling.

Yes!!

I do want to preface that I am neither upset nor angry with our discussions. It is a channel to vent my frustrations at Marvel. So don't take my comments personally.

Iamre321 - Duh, that's exactly my point. I don't like Scott Summers because of the way he is portrayed. "Out of his hands?" He's not real. My frustration is that they continue to romanticize him while showing him disrespect women. And every new author has a chance to set it right but they dont because they dont see the mistreatment as an issue.

That is exactly what I am calling out here.

@pyrofn:These examples you have provided are exactly what I am talking about.

1. Yes, PR makes sense. Not annoyed at the kiss. That apology however was weak but given the time like you said it made sense. Uncanny didn't. Also in Uncanny when all the x-men were presumed dead, not a word about Jean from Scott. And Jean rushes to Scott not the other way.

2. Jean asked him to live not kiss Emma at her grave. He didn't even have the courtesy to grieve for a bit before jumping into another relationship. (But the bigger picture here is the writer did not let Jean live on and move on from Scott. All the other characters saw development but Jean simply remained dead while another character seamlessly fit into her role.)

3. Again, I am ok with the PR reunion. But later in uncanny - what was that? We seem to agree here.

I guess we just have to agree to disagree here. X-Men comics to me does seem to revolve on Scott and from some of your posts I had sent the following to Jordan White.

1. He was married with a kid when Jean comes back. He did kinda play dirty with Maddy and then Maddy conveniently turned evil so Scott can be with Jean.

2. Scott was married to Jean, when he cheated on her multiple times with Emma. And because Scott wanted to be with Emma, Jean was conveniently killed off with him not having to deal with any marital issues when he moved on with Emma rather quickly may I add. Kissing Emma on Jean's grave and jumping into bed with Emma immediately.

4.One should not speak ill of the dead BUT in endsong, Scott compares Emma with Jean and says how she is better for him. Leave your dead wife alone.

5. Emma had a psychic affair with Namor under the phoenix force. Scott does not forgive her but expects everyone to forgive him for his actions under the phoenix force.

6. Even teen Jean is shown to harbor feelings for Adult Scott even though she knows he cheated on her adult self and killed Xavier.

7. When reality warped, Scott got together with Frenzy. After, Scott wanted nothing to do with Frenzy while she wanted to stay with Scott.

8. Scott suckerpunched Emma to take her bit of phoenix force and left her to dead, but later we see it is Emma who wants to get back with Scott, not Scott. Even though all Emma ever did was stand by his side.

Am I wrong here? This reads a lot like favoritism and sexism to me.

@ashetdust: Thank you!

Although I do feel Scott is given wayyyy too much importance than the other characters. Jordan White did say Cyclops is his fave character so......

Even the new children of the Atom also had the lead person be someone who is like Cyclops.

@iamre321: I don't have a ship anymore.

One bad writer does not represent the entire pool. And having Jean cut her ties with her past marred with betrayal and hurt to move on to evolve as her own character without being attached to anybody's hip isn't ruining her character but empowering it. Like X-Men Red.

@pyrofn: Forgiven him when? She only just got back with her memories fresh from when she died. It only seems like a long time ago, but it isn't really in X-Men years. And while she dies heartbroken and betrayed, Scott gets to move on rather quickly and happily. Adult Jean knows from her Teen self that Scott picked Emma. Emma had fed teen Jean that information. So here is a woman who is armed with all the information and still runs into Scott's arms.

And the way they get back together - No discussion, no apologies, no therapy is laughable. Gambit and Rogue even went to therapy for much less. I don't mind them getting together but they didn't have the courtesy to do it right by Jean.

Jordan White replied to my tweet about this saying - "Relationships are complicated." Yeah, no kidding! Apparently it is solved by looking the other way and ignoring the obvious.

I think one of the weaknesses of Jean's character has been Scott and the other is the Phoenix...sometimes Wolvie too. What's the correlation? They all define her every action. I think Jean's stronger than that, I think she deserves to be able to go through her own journeys of self discovery like the other X-men and not be so defeated and tormented by the Phoenix, by Scott, by Wolvie, they're all needy mofos who prioritize themselves and their desires over Jean.

THIS!!!

@koays: As a reader, I don't care whats cooking on the inside. All I care about is the food in front of me.

And as I see it, there is blatant disregard for the women in X-Men. You have a lot of respect for members like pyrofn and imare321, they have said the same thing over and over again. Jean going after Psylocke and Emma but not a word to Scott. Infact the sentence used was "Boys will be boys" Crap. Why not have Jean confront Scott as well?

Look there is no point arguing over it. It is happening whether you choose to see it or not. Insult me and call me all kinds of names and feminist bullshit but someone has to call it for what it is. And I am not the only one, there are many who feel the same way.

I stand by what I said and will not be continuing this conversation anymore. So if it helps to have the last word in this argument, go for it!!

@koays: "twisting out of context" - I didn't make any of that shit up. It all actually happened. And if it seems bad - lol, maybe because it is.

And like you so kindly pointed out - Maddie was rendered useless because Jean was back. Jean was rendered useless so Emma could seamlessly fit in to "Shake" up the franchise. Women easily dispensed but Scott Summers continues. You kinda proved my point.
