@punyparker:

Nothing he's written compares to DKR or Year One. Nothing. Not comparable to the Long Halloween, Dark Victory, or Hush either. Death of a Family licked donkey dick too.

@grey56:

You said it great. I'm shaking my head at the choice here. I don't think people really understand the impact the story had when it came out. The transition of what comics went from to what they are today in terms of how comics grew up because of this story. Where the world was. How the Cold War played a big big part of the presence in the story. Oh Well. It's a new age. It shows the naivety of people. Not for what they chose, but for what was going on when the book was written, and how it really showcased it. This book is so important on so many levels, and now when people read it for the first time they just read a Batman story ad that's it. I can see Hush winning in a way because of the first time someone read it, how great the story was, and how damn good the art was, and introduction of a new villain, but where the hell has really been since. He's been around, he's showed up, but he's pretty lame now. DKR................man I can go on all day about this story, and I'm sure I'm gonna so almost as many posts about how this story got robbed as much as I'm going to read about how good Hush was. Doesn't make sense to me. Court of Owls coming 2nd doesn't either. I want to see where Court of Owls places in 30 years.

Jae Lee never stays that long where he should. He's done some mini-series but never the regular on a title and I'm scared he's going to leave the title. I hope so much he doesn't. Sure he might not really draw that many backgrounds, but who the hell cares when all I want to do is look at his character designs. He is the master of .............his noirish style if that saying anything. Loved this book. Loved this arch. It was fun and trippy, and I want more of Pak and Lee together. Lets hope DC is reading all the good reviews this title is getting from these 2 togther and doesn't make the mistake of not going on with these 2 together on this title, but it's DC and if there is one thing they seem to keep doing is making mistakes. A lot of them.

I lucked out in the order I read Avengers, and New Avengers. This one tied in so well to it being the 2nd read of the titles, and the ending was great. What a great story. I usually hate cosimic stories, but this has been so good, being what it is on so many battle fronts.

@clemj:

exactly. I went with DKR before Killing Joke, but there are a LOT of runner ups.

as long as Hickman is writing it, on Im on board. Forces me to drop one of the many many shitty books I've been reading from DC. Why I keep waisting my money on that company other then Batman, I don't know. We need a revamp re-do. It's crap. It's all crap.

doubt it's the Joker. I'm just hoping it's not someone that everyone thinks is lame. I think he's being drawn in that way to look like it's the Joker with him being all skinny, but that's just to obvious, which Snyder doesn't do. Still tho, this story is okay. It's not great. Not yet any how, and Killing Joke is one of those stories that I think never ever should have been touched. Killing Joke, and Dark Kight Returns are the stories were comic book marketing changed the demographic age. There were some stories that were a bit adult oriented, but those to stories were without a doubt not written for the younger audience. We saw a bullet hit someones head. There were a few swear words. Barbarra Gordon didn't just have her legs broke, I always believed she was raped as well, and Joker took pictures of this as well. Recently Grant Morrison and Kevin Smith had a discussion about the ending of the book, and if Batman actually killed Joker or not. A lot of us have wondered this. I know I questioned it. It's the brilliance of that book. In the end Batman did kill the Joker, and he also didn't kill the Joker. He did kill the Joker, but he also did not kill the Joker so the stories could continue. It was drawn in that way just for that reason, well, I think Babs was raped as well, and was drawn that way for that same reason. It's a sacred story, and even tho DC had a revamp, it's one of those stories I think should have never been changed. DKR is something else because it's the end of Batmans legacy, but Killing Joke is what most people consider the beginning of the Joker. "ONE BAD DAY".

I hate how many people think BM would beat Cap, when Cap is pretty much just as big a badass hand to hand as BM is, but Cap has powers. Stop saying he doesn't either, and that he's just at human peak. He's been shown to pick up whole trees and no one can do that with out powers. Or jump a hundred feet up or forward either. His speed too. But Bucky just has the arm. anyone who thinks he can beat BM is just an idiot. Im not even voting. I like BM more then both, but he beats Bucky, and loses to Cap.
