@morpheus_: The dialogue didn't bother me much considering it was just a few pages, but honestly, if Bendis' story includes the Vandal Savage plot line as seen in the preview, then I'm significantly relieved with Bendis and have a lot less worry. It's a very creative idea to use a Hypertime weapon to have Superman literally go through his entire past starting from the publications in the 30's. The way he talks about how he was more reckless and then the growth in how good vs bad used to be so black and white but isn't now, has me impressed. It was a clever tool that gives both a lot of meta context to the way his character and genre has grown and in universe explanation to how Superman plans to go back to being a more obvious symbol of hope AND an in-universe explanation to trying to bring back a more old-school approach to his approach as a hero. Yes, even if that means something as silly as putting the red trunks back on.

Bendis, I was really REALLY worried and did not have high expectations initially, and I'd be lying if I didn't say you were making a bad choice. But if your first issue holds up to what the preview has shown... then I can't wait to read what more you have. And yes, if it works out, you've turn a No Red Trunks fan into a Red Trunks fan.

HOWEVER, this all depends on if Bendis is the one writing the story I was referring to. I know there's a lot of writers who're writing mini stories in the issue, but it seemed like it was part of Bendis' story.

Yea, it's been out for awhile now. I've been reading it and I enjoy it a lot more than the anime. It follows the same general storyline, but it diverges in details and other things. Things that happen in the anime may not happen in the manga and vice-versa. For example, in the manga, Vegeta also has the Super Saiyan God transformation (Red Hair). In the manga, there is no Super Saiyan Blue Kaio-Ken. Also, there's something called Full Powered Super Saiyan Blue. There is no Super Saiyan Rage, but Trunks has a super strong Super Saiyan 2. Those are just some examples. The rest of the plot though still happens more or less the same. There's a better consistency in terms of power imo and far more clarity when it comes to reasonings and explanations.

It releases monthly with about 40 pages per chapter, so it's not a lot if you stick with it. As of today, the current story is on Chapter 34, where the Tournament of Power has just begun. I highly recommend it over the anime.

This whole thread is complaining about the phrasing people use. It's just pure technicality. Heaven forbid anyone use hyperboles and exaggerations as a mean of portraying how strong someone is. Superman is highly overpowered that he can literally defy universal laws, like faster than light travel. So when people say, "he's a God" or "he's God", they don't mean the literal textbook definition you want. They're using a figurative description to explain that he's powerful enough to do whatever he wants.

People who say he is a God are using the term loosely to simply point out that Superman could honestly deal with any problem thanks to his power set. In the Injustice comics, he destroys an entire Apokalypse army in less than a second with his super speed. He tried to convince Flash to take away all guns in about a week from the world too. He has saved Lois from point-blank gun range after the shot was taken and he heard it from a phone call god knows how far away. He's moved planets and lifted buildings that don't crumple in on themselves. He literally destroyed a moon that was equal to our own. He avoided Kryptonite radiation in the animated series by literally speeding so fast through a Kryptonite cloud that the radiation didn't hit him in time to weaken him while he saved people one at a time. And of course, in the future, he literally brought back Lois from the dead, gave her an immortal body, and has the power to bestow his powers to people he chooses.

The point is, Superman can do damn near anything he'd really want. No, he is not the "One Only God" that is omnipotent, but he's a hundred tiers higher than any person could really fathom if he existed in our world that he'd essentially be a God. So forgive people who say he's a God or he's God, when they just mean to say he's stupidly OP and any problems he faces in stories can honestly be dealt with without problems if writers so choose to use his powers to the fullest.

@lvenger: I'm actually pretty happy with the fact that the power is still in play. It seems as though his power may be more similar to Supergirl's version in the New 52, where she could release her solar energy as like a bomb and still retain some power. I always hated how in the New 52, Superman had a Solar Flare, and Supergirl had a Solar Bomb, that were essentially the same but functioned differently. Either way, I'm looking forward to this power and it's potential.

@zariusii: It could've still taken place after "The Lies", Lane just may not have been aware of the fact that they got back together. It's not like they officially announce their relationship to anyone

So, the best way I would describe it is "Nature Energy".

Based on all things in previews, it's implied the new form Goku achieves with the silver eyes is a result of absorbing the Spirit Bomb. We also know from the start of the DBZ that the Spirit Bomb was explained to take energy from all things, like the sun, plants, and even inanimate things, as well as regular people.

Most people who are up to date with DBS have seen or read the Naruto series. In it, each person's energy is described as chakra with both "spiritual" and "physical" energies that both come within ourselves, but there's also a third one people can absorb called "nature" energy that comes from outside themselves.

So I would assume it's sorta similar in DBS. There's Regular Ki, that comes from within mortals. God Ki, that comes from within immortals and deities. And, if my theory is correct, Nature Ki, which comes from outside of both mortals and deities and is the infinite energy that makes things exists both in the void and creation.

That or it's Zeno's Ki.

@kenshima15: Oracle also showed up during the Convergence event, and so H'el still may not have happened.

My question is that if the 2011 young justice comics belong to the same universe as the Batman comics. I think I understand that they belong to a Batman television series. What I do not know is if that series is the same earth as the original (new earth or earth 1) or if it is different. Is that in young justice the origin of clayface (matthew hagen) I think it is different. Is it canon?

As far as I know, YJ doesn't share continuity with anything (other than the YJ comic based off of the show)

That isn't quite true, YJ takes place on earth 16 in the DC Multiverse.

Not even, it turns out. YJ takes place as a TV SHOW on Earth 16 of the DC Multiverse... Which is stupid. Apparently, YJ was given Earth 16 by the heads of DC as a means of letting them have a separate continuity. And everyone at the time thought it was an unoccupied Earth the show creators could use. But they later learn Earth 16 WAS occupied, so they just made it so YJ became a show on Earth 16

I'll have scans momentarily
