I would Like to Blame Geoff Johns ,Jim Lee [ I really and truly hate to say -_- why man ..why ?] and that Dan Guy ? Vertigo did not deserve this .

All I can say is this is a Sad ..sad state of Affairs

I hope Karen`s Talents would be put to good use somewhere in the Comic Book Publishing world because without here we would not have the works of Grant Morrison ,Alan Moore , Mark Millar and Many ..many others [ DC has yet again shot themselves in the Foot again -_- ] like the old saying goes If it an`t Broke don't fix it .

I am sure Valiant Entertainment needs another Editor ..

Hello Sara ,Tony and Cory [ if you are there on the podcast , if not then I give you my best Holiday wishes ^_^ ]Longtime no See .. anyways with all of that needless exposition here are my questions for Wonderfully entertaining Podcast that fills me with joy ..

my first question is ...

1. sara have you ever read the indie Comic known as the Thickness by Micheal Deforge , Katie Skelly , Ze Jian Shen ,Derek Ballard and True Chubbo [ just a little curious ?]
2. Tony have you ever read any comics written and drawn by Johnny Ryan such as Prison Pit , comics for idiots , Take a joke [ if so what do you think of his work , do you like his art style and use of his Selective Subject matter .
3. Cory [ if your there hiding in the shadows of the dark podcasting Booth , I can tell from your heavy Breathing ...LOL just kidding ] but I have a special question for you ... would you ever Order Indie Small Press Books like Micheal Deforge`s The Thickness , Johnny Ryan`s Prison Pit,Black Lung by Chris Wright ..heck even Barrel of Monkeys, by Florent Ruppert & Jerome Mulot in your store [ would you even suggest any of them to new costumers or even someone who is new to comics in general [ silently awaiting your thoughts on the podcast ]

this one is for everyone Have anybody in this room ever seen the Movie No Country for Old Men if so what do you think of the Main Villain Anton Chigurh [ seeing Disney is buying up everything that is hugely popular in our current pop culture society today would say I don't know Commission a Ongoing series about the Wily Hitman [ heck even give him his own Animated series where he teams up with Daniel Plainview [ of There will be Blood Fame ] go on an Cross Country Rampage destroying the Marvel Now Universe ..it would be the best Cartoon next to Warren Ellis`s pitch for the Wire : Omar Little /Brother Malzone Action Hour . anyways do you think a comic with this famous Movie Villain paired with the Crazed Oilman Daniel Plainview would out sell the avengers and would you think Warren Ellis would Write it if Marvel Paid him a semi-truck load of Money and who would you think would do the art for such an Book ?

and my Last Question is what did you think of the Villain in Skyfall : Raoul Silva as masterfully played by Javier Bardem .. anyways tony , Sara and Cory .. if he was say a real person would you all want to spend a week hanging out with the guy and would you feel comfortable in his company . tony would you let him have dinner with your Family or Cory would you let him hang out around the store [ you know with Christopher Walken , Gary Busey , Nick Cage and Sasha Grey ]

I still love the podcast and Sara and Tony are the best [ sara still has a Lovely lovely Voice ] and Tony is simply the best . also Cory`s Christopher Walken Impression is Wildly Amusing .

All I can say is I can agree with your argument about the current U.S comic market [ it`s all about gimmicks ..cough ..variant covers ..cough ..] with the Big Two ..[ Image Comics seems to at least do them a little bit better in my opinion ] but I see your point . these days I look for the top Quality of Writing and wildly creative artist doing their best work at Image comics at the Moment , to me they seem to have more heart and really care about telling their story without having to go to gimmicks .. [ Examples : Brandon Graham`s work on Prophet , Brian K. Vaughn and Fiona Staples on Saga , Erik Larsen`s Long running work on Savage Dragon : a personal Favorite of mine next to Frank Cho`s Liberty Meadows and Robert Kirkman`s Invincible and Many ..Many More ] I Know not everything that Comes out of Image is Golden but from the ones I have named have Creators who are the best at what they do ] but as far as American comics that work outside the Four Color Bubble of Superheroes at Both [ Marvel and DC ] they are a few diamonds in the rough . but I hope your not Forgetting the Self Published ..Small Press comics [ from the likes of micheal deforge , Lisa Hanawalt ,Jillian Tamaki , Johnny Ryan and jonny negron to name a few with Comics like The Thickness , Loose , Johnny Ryan`s Prison Pit to name a few ] I know they are way off the radar in terms of Mainstream acceptability they are really great comics . Yeah I do see the value of Manga comics as a whole too because they too are Created Written and illustrated by People who really care about telling a great story without resorting to Capes and Tights and over the top Grim and gritty everybody has to be Batman or nothing type of Market we pretty much live it here in the state .

I do agree that Are comics market would do a lot better if the say all of the titles of an Ongoing superhero series was Collected and formatted like Manga [ I really would pay Money to support that if say all of the X-Books where a 200 page weekly or Monthly type book than an over priced floppy [ I feel like Mark Millar is using the Magazine Format to it`s fullest with Clint Magazine right now and Jimmy Palmotti and Steve Niles with Creator owned heroes [ in my eyes they are giving you your bang for your buck . at the moment Marvel seems to be doing their best to spotlight on a few obscure characters in Now between the Fiffty second Wolverine Title or the eighty sixth Avengers Title being in the All New ,All Different Marvel Now creative team shuffle going on right now [ Mark Waid at the top of his game right now on Both Daredevil and Indestructible Hulk are the shinning lights from my Point of View ] but DC on the other hand has a few hits [ Batman Inc volume two ..namely because of the dazzling work of Chris Burnham , Batwoman by J.H Williams III and Friends , Demon Knights to name a few diamonds in the rough over at the Madhouse that the DC Offices has become between Jim Lee , Geoff Johns and Dan Didio [ Hope I spelled that Right ^_^ ] anyways my personal point is vote with your Dollars and Buy what you like [ I feel it`s better to Support Indie Comics of all kinds ..Image , Koyama Press , Dark Horse , Shadowline , Top Cow , Fantagraphics books or Whatever you like ] but hey I really enjoyed reading this blog post .

Informative , though provoking ^_^ : your right U.S comics need less gimmicks and More interesting , out of the box Storytelling .

I am all for getting the most for what I payed for in comics and in entertainment [ and that is all :D]
