It's hard to compare a supporting charecter to a main protagonist. I don't get the hype for JJJ.
Because he translated everyones perception of the character into his performance and nailed it. With that said while I think he nailed the character I don't think that the performance was as significant or noteworthy as many others on the list, I imagine thats the pain of being a side character.
I think there are so many great casting choices here e.g. Jackman as Wolverine, McKellen and Fassbender as Magneto and Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool to name a few however for me it has to be Heath Ledger as The Joker. It's generic choice, I acknowledge that, but for me Heath just brought an instability and unpredictability to the character that made him genially terrifying. His whole demeanour portrayed his psychotic nature not as a gimmick or trademark characteristic but as a realistically threatening and dangerous personality. It's something that I've never felt to the same degree with any other movie villain.
I thought this would be tough until I saw J.K. Simmons was a choice.
He was actually the first one I thought to include, I only didn't vote for him because I don't think his role was substantial enough for me to pick him over Ledger. But yeah, his JJJ was straight from the comics, I'm not surprise he's winning.
