I honestly don't feel like they actually beat Dr. Doom. I mean, if it was so simple as T'Challa using the time gem, then why didn't he do that in the first place?
Doom struggling with his fight with Reed was purely plot. It was obvious Hickman wanted to wrap things up.
Everyone who survived the incursion that was on Battleworld still remembers the events of Secret Wars, right?
This event seemed like one long winded story about Doom's insecurities and jealousy towards Reed. I liked the event overall, but really?
Anyone have any theories regarding the long term results or ramifications from the Richards family creating universes? (I mean, we already have Galactus creating life now too)
Also, if T'Challa went back in time...did any of this actually ever happen?
1. Black Panther had nothing to do with Doom's defeat. When Reed and Doom were fighting, They both agreed, that Doom's power was better in Reed's hands. So Reed gained ulimited power and recreated the Universe. Black Panther went back in time in the Universe that Reed recreated and He managed to save Wakanda from it's faith. (the time line it's a bit of a mess right now, some of the things of the Incursions happened because It was mentioned in books of this Universe, but we don't know how much remained the same)
To your point about #1 I believe in Secrete Wars 5 or 6 when BP first gets the Gauntlet/ Stephens Hologram tells him that he got the IG from the remnants from a Destroyed Universe, and the IG only works on the land or "territory" of that Universe. So when Doom recreated everything Strange made sure that the territory Doomgard/Castle Doom sits on is land/territory from that Universe, Enabling the IG to work on that Territory only. So technically he couldn't use it from anywhere but that place. Second where would T'Challa have traveled to? Doom destroyed the Beyonders ina fight in space wherein T'challa at the time had no idea where it took place and second if he Destroys doom prior to getting THe Beyonder's power then Battleworld never happens...
Nice review after reading this comic, I do give Marvel props for Diversity, but also found the art and the team comp to be the most intriguing of all. This was my only all new all different marvel title that looked interesting because it was a team of under utilized characters ( save for BP and Capt. MArvel). I'm not a science guy but I knew that monolog thing was BS but it reminded me of Hickman's books which is a good thing.
