a lot of people seem to be wondering why they split the duos of "team D" and "team red" to stand against each other, but I can't help but think they did that on purpose because they know it'll hurt that much more. I'd be very surprised if this event doesn't end with some major emotional hurt for the robin fans, after all.

so on that note, I'm thinking we'll be seeing even more dead robins soon after this... I mean, it seems logical, considering that the sheer amount of sidekicks roaming around in gotham right now, isn't a status quo I think will stick around for too long.

btw, anyone have a clue what the trigger for this war will be, or did I miss that synopsis somewhere?

I'm not necessarily against pregnancy/family drama plots in superhero comic, because even though that might feel mundane in other stories, it can be super interesting or at the very least entertainingly wacky when you throw it in to the superhero genre, to offset the big scale action and epicness.

but couldn't they have done this concept with literally any other heroine? it just feels off for jessica drew to have this storyline. :/

the art's pretty charming though...

I know other people don't agree with me, but I really enjoyed the pacing and the slow, but thorough, build up in the last issue so I'm not at all peeved to see it still going strong here. the comic feels richer (also largely thanks to the fantastic art) when the story takes time out to dwell on character interaction or when it let's the tension build. 'course, there's always a risk that the payoff won't be amazing enough to warrant the comic taking it's sweet time, but I hope it will be.

@stahlflamme: I think it's more implying that he's having one of his depressive bouts, since it's been heavily hinted that he fell into clinical depression after cassie's death and has had suicide thoughts after as well, whenever he's especially low.

but yes, there are some parts of his characterization from volume 2 that exaggerated a lot of his flaws. in fact, they where so overblown to such an extent that many who've only ever read that volume has a really low opinion of him. the billy's known for his geeky, sarcastic, but confident persona has been toned down for the last few years, and not many people know that's the actual personality he's sported for most of his history. :(

@stahlflamme: yeah, and teddy's the one in most need of exploration and development. not like there aren't plenty of stories you could tell with him, but writers don't seem interested in including him in non-YA stuff, unless he's in the background of some random book as a cameo with billy.

I mean, there's plenty of books where it would have made sense for him to show up (like with the hulk or captain marvel) and he's got a pretty big family (mar-vell, his half siblings, the kree/skrulls in general) that are all connected too a lot character, that he could interact with.

but as said, there's still groundwork to get done before he can become a great character in his own right. and before that happens, no writer is gonna go out of their way to include him in stuff, unless they have special interest in him, because as it stands he's simply not unique/interesting enough in neither design, powers nor in personality, to come to mind when you think of teen heroes too hype up. and this is coming from someone who loves the character!

so yeah, maybe the this ongoing will be good for that. at least I hope it will be.

hope they'll address the fact that he actually has two sons whom he now knows are still alive, and that he's already meet one of them and seemed happy about it, in this book. be kinda awkward otherwise.

...I'd be ok with them never mentioning the thousands of children he created in uncanny avengers ever again tho, because it was a stupid plot point to begin with (just like I'd be ok with marvel forgetting their recent retcon of wanda and pietro not being magneto's kids).

I keep thinking those zombies, or whatever, are characters from the sims. the art's still not working for me either.

I guess I'll see how this pans out but for now I'm feeling kinda lukewarm about this ongoing. I really hope teddy and billy get some character development in this series tho, and that they're not glued to each other the whole time. there's so much that needs to be done with those two.
