Well I got motivated to write another one of these...

So just some random thoughts on the world of comics right now...

1. Captain America is dead. WTF!? This can't stay this way for long. Cap is like a freakin' icon. Although I enjoy change in comics because the status quo gets old after a while, Cap was actually great lately. I can forgive those 90's issues where he used and energy shield, and the corny armor because Ed Brubaker was writing some GREAT stories with Cap. I guess I'm now excited to see how Brubaker is going to keep the series going with the title character dead. Hope it's better that world without Superman...

2. 52 is almost over. There were some dry spells. But the World War 3 story has gotten me interested again. And thank you DC for releasing all those at once. That made for some great reading, and I didn't have to wait another week or month for the next issue. I'm looking forward to Countdown but I'm thinking that it will have it's dry spells too. Hope Jimmy Olsen bites it!

3. Civil War is over and the Initiative has begun. So this is intriguing. I'm actually interested in this even though I didn't think that I would be. I hope that this thing maintains it's momentum for a little while. I enjoy reading about new heroes and stuff so my fingers are crossed...

4. World War Hulk. Planet Hulk got me back into Hulk. That story was fantastic and the art work just matched the story so well. I'm hoping that the Hulk comes back to earth and really changes some things. I know that he's also bringing most of the new supporting cast from the Planet Hulk storyline and I'm amped about that. Now there's some real Avengers!

5. Fallen Son. A little redundant of me but deal with it. The one-shot issues concerning Cap's death. I read the Wolverine issue thinking let's see, but now I really want to read the other heroes take on the death of one of the main heroes of Marvel earth. Can't wait to see the Avengers issue this week!

6. Comics Podcasts still suck. Read my first blog for details...

"There I said it..."

Just in case anyone gives a rip about what I think. Anyway I was listening to a comic book podcast the other day when it struck me. Every single comic book podcast that I have ever listened to sucks. Why? These should be people that are like me more or less... No they are all boring and half of them are over an hour long. I love comics and I love to talk to people about comics but for over an hour? Not likely. So if there are any comic podcasters out there reading this small blurb know this... we don't want to hear about how much you love the Rocky movies, we don't want to hear about your mom and how you still live in your parent's basement, we want to hear about comics. Cut the crap and get to the point, stop trying so hard to be funny and just be what you are, a dork. If anyone out there listens to a great podcast about comics or anything drop me a line and let me listen in. To quote David Spade on the Showbiz Show "There I Said It."
