Invisible Woman

Counters

1) Without a shield to protect her, Sue is a glass cannon with practically zero noteworthy durability feats

- Sue has some insane durability showings i.e. she tanked a insanely high fall in an unprotected Fantasticar and tanked a direct blast from Doom and was fine afterwards, but I feel like it was all plot-armor so I won't be using those feats, so you're right here.

2) Her reaction speed is decent but her combat speed is quite poor

- Other than reacting and her powers working fast enough, I don't see the need for combat speed (For Sue...)

- "Typical detonation velocities in gases range from1800 m/s to 3000 m/s." and Sue actually contained the explosion (meaning her force field covered the explosion after it began) so Sue's reaction and the speed of her powers operate on is much faster than Mera has used her hydrokinises or can close the distance between them.

3) Her defensive capabilities are impressive, but she is severely lacking in offence

- In the movies Sue rarely used her powers offensively and her offensive capabilities can not compare to her defensive capabilities, but they don't need to, I'll get back to that later

4) She is used to working on a team, so having to fight alone is a disadvantage for her. She will be the main (and only) focus of the fight, she can't rely on her teammates, and she has to play the role of offence & defence instead of support

- True, but considering that she adapted to working with a team in mere minutes I don't see why she won't easily be able to work on her own seeing as she just has the defense and don't need the offence

5) She can't go invisible

6) She does not fight to kill

- Back to Sue lacking offense, Seeing as Sue is the type of character to avoid conflict, means Sue will most definitely start the battle by trapping Mera in a force field and since her powers work on thought (and maybe her lifting her hands) Mera won't be able to do much if Sue traps her in a bubble (Mera needed to do hand movements before creating the spikes)

While I have no doubt that Sue could shield herself against Mera's attacks, I doubt she will be able to maintain her shields for an extended period of time while being able to mount a counter-attack. In many of the cases where Sue has had to maintain a force field for a long period of time or against a particularly powerful force, she would get a nosebleed, her shields would weaken over time, she would lose focus, or she would struggle in some way.

Let's see the first time Sue got the nosebleed she used her powers for the first time containing an explosion and the second time was a few days later when she was literally containing the temperature of the sun for an extended period of time (meaning her powers have grown extensively) and the third time was when already been holding back the Millennium wheel of 1000 tons for a extended period while also having to concentrate on her stepping stones, so yeah she got a nosebleed and struggle visably but against forces that Mera could never hope to replicate even slightly.

Basically, Sue's force fields will eventually give out through extended pressure. Mera can submerge her in water, throw hardwater spikes at her, grab her shield with a water tendril and toss her around, etc. Sue's shields are strong against blunt force and energy attacks, but I don't think they have shown great resistance to piercing attacks, i.e. hardwater spikes from Mera who were strong enough to pierce through Atlantean armour and the Atlantean guards within them.

- Since Sue's force field's best defensive feats are to contain Johnny's Supernova, easily tanked hundreds of cars falling from 100+ foot and to hold the Millennium wheel steady I honestly think it's safe to say that Mera isn't going to get past Sue's fields...

- In the scans above Sue's force field casually blocks thousands of tiny pieces of metal and concrete, even some edged and thin board-like pieces of metal all falling or moving at incredible speeds, so piercing attacks don't seem to affect Sue's force fields any differently, So Sue would easily be able to block Mera's spikes.

Sue doesn't have a great track record of being able to simultaneously attack and defend, so while Mera is on the offence, Sue will have no choice but to remain on the defence. Sue from the first two movies rarely (if ever) used spherical force fields around herself, whereas Sue from the 2015 movie could but was limited to how long she could hold her breath. If she doesn't use a complete spherical force field around herself from the start, she is being taken out from the side or behind. If she does, she'll only be able to maintain it for as long as she can hold her breath while being under assault by Mera's attacks.

- I agree with Sue not simultaneously attacking and defending, but as I've already proven that Sue's powers works a bit faster than Mera's and Sue will most definitely contain Mera right as the battle starts.

Sue can always create larger force fields with more air inside.

In terms of offence, there is nothing Sue can do against Mera to take her out. Projecting shockwaves won't harm her and keeping her in a bubble won't do anything as Mera and other Atlanteans don't need to breathe in oxygen to survive. They live underwater. Sue has also used this attack a total of 1 time, and it was against fodder guards

- I agree fully with Sue not being able to physically hurt Mera, but in both Marvel and DC comics Atlanteans have similar breathing systems than fish meaning they breathe the air molecules in water and since there hasn't been given a new explanation of how the Atlanteans breath in the DCEU I assume it's similar to the comics and this is further proven by the fact that Atlantean fodder suffocate instantly outside the water and Atlantean royalty (Atlanta when Arthur's father saved her in the beginning of the film, Mera when she saved Arthur's father and Orm when Mera removed the water around him) gasped heavily when coming out of the ocean's water (meaning they do breath air) and since Sue doesn't have much options to attack Mera and she doesn't use violence unless really pissed It's highly in-character to contain Mera

  • incredibly outclassed in physicals, with reaction speed being her only notable advantage

- Again Sue doesn't need Physical Durability or Strength to survive or to KO Mera

  • severely lacking in offence despite having strong defence

- Sue doesn't need offense

  • a glass cannon without her shields

- Like I said Sue's durability wasn't enhanced by her powers and therefore she should still be considered a normal human in terms of durability and I don't feel like using her plot-armor durability feats.

  • at a disadvantage as she will not have any teammates to rely on and to take the focus off of her

- I don't see how Mera can use this as an advantage of it came down to attacking Sue

  • unable to attack and defend at the same time

- If Sue traps Mera in a force bubble from the which I explained is most likely the case she won't have to attack or defend.

  • unable to maintain a force field around herself once she runs out of breath

- Sue didn't have a problem with breath when she along with Reed and Ben where traveling through the wormhole / portal.

Conclusion

- Imo Once Sue has Mera in a force field the fight is over because Mera doesn't have the strength to break Sue's force field before she suffocates and Sue will definitely contain Mera in a force field from the get go given the nature of Sue's character and as I've said Mera was gasping heavily when she came out of the water, meaning she does indeed breath air and even if Sue doesn't trap Mera from the start of the battle it won't take long before it happens given that she doesn't have many options to attack and she is as intelligent as Reed and during the time Sue doesn't contain Mera, Mera won't damage Sue's protective force field at all.
