I think the title is pretty self-explanatory…characters that should never ever ever have died, or if they DID have to die for story reasons or whatever, should not have stayed dead/been replaced with a lame new version.
[Brief note: In the case of Jaime Reyes, I would be perfectly happy having him around IF Ted was around too. Jaime's a good character, I just don't like having him as the only Blue Beetle]

I'm sorry, this guy is so remarkably dated, and that is EXACTLY why he should stick around in Gotham. He's just such a great foe for Robins who are all 'LOL-wut?' when they see him.
