@kyo28: not happening at least for the foreseeable future.... someone else is the new falcon now his name escapes me but someone took over for Sam since Sam is now captain america.

what they're doing is and that established this in the latest captain america Sam Wilson issue as well as standoff that Sam will still remain as captain america but Steve will return but instead there will be two captain americas it's more along the lines of Steve thinking Sam earned it not just for filling in for him in his absence and inability to be captain america but also because they're friends and they trust each other and have history together.

Basically they're doing the miles morales approach where instead of favoring one over the other and instead of choosing and sacrificing one over the other they're keep both and having both like where miles and peter are both spider-man of course there's been many people men and women alike who have carried and donned the spider man or woman mantle so it's nothing new but with that said its a example that you don't always need to have just one of said established already existing character I think sharing the name is much better than outright replacing them.

And I find in many ways I think it works better even if many people are against it when a new character or a already existing character takes over the mantle of said already existing established character but I'll admit it makes more sense when they share the name and the same powers rather than outright replacing them.

Captain america isn't and never really is that often light hearted it's a very politically heavy book and has been since its inception.

Like there's moments of course but I think when Steve is being written in a very gritty politically charged way I find it really appealing because it's such a big part of his character and the idea of the character of who he is he's more liberal leaning and in many ways always has been but alas that's not the point the point is I think Steve is best written in a more serious political way I think many may not agree with the way he's written politically but fortunately it's not as common most people love the way his character or many comics lean politically....

And it's like at the same time it's something for the most part that's mostly unavoidable because comics always have in a way been really political and serious especially political in the messages they send I think I'm many way marvel is more progressive in the politics and liberal in how many characters are written and portrayed in the comics.

It's starting off great so far at least but that's the thing with bendis a lot of his crossovers he's written start really strongly then they kinda fall apart half way through so far at least with issue zero everyone from Carol to Jennifer are reasonable in how they're portrayed and written no authoritarian fascist bs llike the first civil war because in a lot of ways that's sadly how many great characters like tony and Carol and Jennifer were written as and portrayed as it was really hard to like it to defend it to justify it.

But so far it's great I just hope Carol will continue to be written and portrayed in the way she currently is it's hard to say like the idea of wanting to stop tragedy before it can happen is a good one but then people will think you're doing unjust things by arresting someone before the tragedy can happen and it's like a slippery slope....

I'll just say this not just as a fan of the character but as someone who likes to see both sides I'm just not ready to condemn Carol as bad until we really start seeing it.

With that said if she hulk really does die I'll be legitimately sad she's like my second all time favorite marvel character...

I think many people who hate Carol like I don't know it's confusing there's a handful of people who think she had no right to be captain marvel and that others deserved it yet Carol has the connection with mar-vell they were friends and lovers and she basically has the same powers as mar-vell .

Carol Danvers was always looking up to and following Mar-vell the first Captain Marvel who died. Thats how they moved her in to take over the mantle as she actually possess the actual powers of the deceased Mar-vell and interacts with the Kree when necessary.

So Now that Carol Danvers is Captain Marvel And has been for three years now I can't wait to see where they take her character.

In a way too the characterization of Carol in the first civil war didn't help this of course was about 7 years before she would take over as the new captain marvel and I've stated before how in many ways not just Carol but she hulk and tony stark these characters many people love but it was really hard to defend and like in a way these characters during civil war and I say like it's almost like how they were written was editorial mandated like that's not how these characters would act it was so alien and strange to see any of those characters being written like that....

Finally I'd like to say as much as many people hate it the truth is Carol as captain marvel is here to stay with kamala's growing popularity and success as ms marvel and of course with the constant success of Carol as captain marvel both are most likely going to remain in prospective identities for the foreseeable future and with the captain marvel on the horizon its inevitable.

For a long time fan of the character Carol Danvers from the X-men to the avengers to iron man to spider man to ms marvel to now captain marvel it's great seeing where she's going her character and I feel that she's finally getting her due which is long overdue finally getting the push and recognition and more and more she's appearing in many titles and people are becoming more and more aware of her And she I feel has long deserved what they're they're currently doing with her by after years of setback mostly through the 80's 90's and early 2000's it finally seems like it's paying off for Carol she is becoming more and more popular and I think this in many ways has to do with the loyal fans she's had since her inception.

Personally I'd like for civil war ii to be the last universe wide crossover for awhile after it ends like stories like standoff, dead no more, and death of X seem like they will work because it's regulated to only a few titles but I really doubt they'll stop with civil war ii but it would be great for them to take a year or two away from annual universe wide crossovers.

They also said something about how certain character will either change positions or voice their concern about both positions..... As far as I can remember it kinda makes sense certain ones being with Carol like spider man I feel he trust her more I think Peter still doesn't forgive tony for the first civil war and on top of that he stole Mary Jane from him.....
