The RE:SIN Program

"Neither entirely human nor distinctly inhuman, the grouping of these men into a singularly coordinated, highly-functioning entity represents humankind's exciting, and sometimes frightening, foray into eusociality. These are not men, but something greater. They together form an entity born, nay, reborn! One constructed from pettier individual parts into something truly selfless, truly marvelous!" — Dr. Jonathan Reid on the future of Secure Interneural Networking

RE:SIN — Reborn Entity: Secure Interneural Networking

The "Reborn Entity" line of enhanced soldiers is one of the few projects spearheaded by Century Industries itself. Rather than simply purchasing and repackaging material sold by their competitors, Century Industries has pioneered a method to create a near instantaneous form of communication and collaboration between its soldiers.

By securely monitoring the brain's impulses, filtering them, and mirroring the relevant "thoughts" into other linked soldiers in a squad, combat effectiveness is greatly increased. When danger is detected by an individual linked into the interneural network, all squad members are notified of its position and nature, all at the speed of thought.

This of course also assists with stealth, as matters of strategy can be communicated not through archaic hand signal or verbal discussion, but through thought alone. Plans are formed and transmitted in their entirety, and changes in those plans are communicated equally quickly and without risk of compromise. Attacks can be coordinated (and assistance requested) without speaking a single word.

By coupling this technology with the existing equipment available to Century Industries, several distinct entities and configurations emerge.

RE:SIN Soldiers

By combining the RE:SIN technology with the heavily armored SEED-CM individual combat exoarmor, Century Industries has created a durable and effortlessly coordinated fighting force.

The reinforced exo-skeletal armor provides near invincibility when facing more common varieties of small-arms fire, and the strength provided by that same exo-skeleton allows RE:SIN soldiers a variety of options on the battlefield normally accessible only to metahuman entities.

RE:SIN Soldiers are also provided an option to further augment their capabilities with NuGenesis Biological Augmentation serums, which will genetically alter the soldiers to allow for enhanced strength, speed, or durability. These concoctions may not make them as powerful as the average, naturally augmented mutant or metahuman, but they certainly close the gap.

RE:SIN Infiltrator

While not an officially listed capacity of the RE:SIN program, infiltrators have always played a key part in the world of espionage (corporate and otherwise). With this in mind, the RE:SIN infiltrator often has no outward indication of its augmentations, and may even be unaware that they themselves have been connected to the SIN network.

By connecting these individuals to the RE:SIN program, Century Industries is able to covertly collect any and all information that registers with an individual.

These individuals are often used as spies (if they have been knowingly augmented and work for Century Industries) or as unsuspecting, real-life data miners, gathering information from friends, family, coworkers, and others without any conscious knowledge that they are doing so.

It is here that the deviousness of the RE:SIN program becomes known, as the unsuspecting victim of such a procedure can be influenced subconciously through the Interneural Network to perform tasks or pursue knowledge that they would otherwise have no interest in, all without the slightest hint that they are being manipulated, as the thoughts appear their own.

Unlike most RE:SIN entities, infiltrators are not kept connected to other individuals throughout the duration of their "missions", but rather are kept connected to computers that record their activity and filter out irrelevancies while preserving relevant data for later review.

RE:SIN Shinobi

The RE:SIN Shinobi takes heavy inspiration from the Neo-Sin line of exosuits once utilized by extreme athletes and black market hired guns alike, with a particular stylistic bombast stolen from the likes of the San'Vun Syndicates own Neo-Sin Soldiers in particular.

Their role is to act as an intermediate between the full assault force of the RE:SIN Soldier and the innocuous and almost complete passivity of an infiltrator.

Where RE:SIN Soldiers are connected only to each other (so as to reduce "noise" that might interfere with their unit cohesion) and RE:SIN Infiltrators are equipped mainly to interface with data storage units and only occasionally connect with other humans (to allow manipulation of thorught or transmission of orders), RE:SIN Shinobi are conditioned to maintain a contant connection to both data-recording centers and their fellow RE:SIN Shinobi.

In this way they are able to instantly transmit relevant data they are sent to retrieve while also being able to coordinate attacks, distractions, and work cohesively toward the self-preservation of other RE:SIN Shinobi.

RE:SIN Shinobi are in fact so well conditioned to think of themselves as a single eusocial being that they will not hesitate to sacrifice themselves to improve the odds that even one of them will emerge alive with whatever objective they were tasked with completed.

As the RE:SIN shinobi are combat units (and the most elite of combat units at that) they are augmented with enhanced speed, durability, and strength without exception. Their form-fitting suits are equipped with carbon fiber musculature which functions as a defense against impact, provides slash resistance, and enhances the strength and speed of its wearer, all while remaining relatively lightweight and avoiding noise-generating metal plating.

These units have thus far remained out of sight at the behest of one of Century Industries' most generous benefactors, as he claims that their first venture aught to be under one "accustomed to commanding such entities" @yazhun_sanvun.
