Holly writhed in her sleep, something was not quite right about her bed sheets. Her thoroughly mosturized skin was unhapply with whatever material was now chafing it. Was it the thread count? Did these new sheets somehow manage to be bought without their softness being tested? Impossible. Holly was thorough in all aspects of her life especially when it came to what she slept in, on or with. Her skin was covered in a thin film of her own sweat, puzzling for if she were in her loft in San Francisco the air would have been a soft mist that rickled her awake not this greasy heat. Her eyes opened slowly but jolted with firm consciousness at her surroundings. She stared at a wooden ceiling where she expected to see gray cement with pipes. She kicked off the cheese cloth of a blanket and sniffed at the air unhappily, what was that stench? Was is chicken feces? (only she didn't think feces she thought s_ _ _)
She scooped up her hair tied it into a braid, trying to collect her memories from the previous day. She has somehow managed to find herself in the past. Normally this would have shocked her but the Kindred (the assassins who had trained her) taught her to expect nothing thus letting yourself expect everything, it made no sense to her then or now but somehow its lack of sense seem to fit her current senario.
She had been called a witch in this world, then a whore but she was called a lot of things in the future to so those insults where waved away. Then there was a trial and a champion...the champion! the strange knight with a funny accent who had acted as her hero. If he was a hero, then she knew where she stood with him...hopefully an entire continent away. She went toward the nightstand to stare into a rusty basin and a pitcher of murky water. She grimaced, oh who she wouldn't kill for proper plumbing. She tucked in her lips and shut her eyes and washed her face with the questionable water, praying to her god that it would not make her break out, she feared they did not carry acne cream in the past either. She grabbed what little possessions she had on her and reached for the the acursed staff that had brought her here in the beginning. If it brought her in, it had to be able to bring her out. She felt terrible leaving the man without a goodbye but he would be fine. The Innkeepers were a good bunch and he seemed capable of paying them off.
She used her trained feet to quiety pass his room on her way out. and made her way down the stairs and out the inn.
"Tara was a better character, better girlfriend, better friend and a better evything, kennedy should die a quick death and we can forget Joss created her.....woot! "
Magick started turning this way and that as if some little fly buzzed in her ear. She then started talking to herself. Holly waited patiently for Magick to explain her behavior; she knew what it was like to hear things no one else could.
"It was just Crysta. She's here, but we can't see her, and she can't communicate with us. This craziness has got to stop. I suggest we all go into the game. Together. Lets find out who Esmerelda is, and how we can beat her." Magick said to the team.
Holly touched her chin, a habit she found that helped her think better.
"No. I'm sorry Magick I know you want to save Cysta but I can't risk all of the team going into the game. We'll split into two's. Slight why don't you and Magick will take to the game. Be careful. Try to remember where you are and what you've got going in this world. The Alterworld feeds on its players insecurities the moment you think the battle's not worth fighting or that the Alterworld is more enjoyable than the real world you'll be trapped. You're both capable warriors and I don't doubt your abilities but we're dealing with a technopath so remember it's his domain which gives him a scary advantage. Powersurge and I will track him up here. I've read the files so many times I'm beginning to see a pattern. We'll get the techie out here but you have to get it in there"
Holly turned to Leah and Arach-Knight and cracked her fingers.
"If you guys aren't with us...I can't let you walk out of here with any memories. So what's it gonna be?"
One day my guy friend came up to me and started asking me what girls like in guys and I was suprised to find I actually had to think about it. Because shy girls might like guys who open doors for them and feminists girls might take offense at this thinking guys think them too weak to open a door. So for this forum I thought it'd be cool if we collected certain things we like from significant others.
1.) Do get flowers (but try getting them in pots and not in bouquets because this is more earth friendly) 2.) If you're going to open doors for me and pulling my chair for me to sit on you're going to do this for the rest of the relationship and not just on the first few dates. 3.) Remember my birthday, even if I say i don't care about it, on some subconcious level, I do 4.) Don't say "Do whatever you want, I don't care" because most girls will just hear the non-existent emphasis on the last part of that sentence and you'll just sound like a jerk. 5.) If you're going to tell me I got fat over the holidays just tell me I gained weight never in any circumstances should a guy call a girl fat (unless he is suicidal) 6.) VERY IMPORTANT: Be a hero, the ladies love a hero XP

Holly's gray eyes folded into a glare. it was bad enough this maniac was offering virtual suicide but nobody and she meant NOBODY messed with her team and got away with it. First, attacking her at the hospital, then Crysta's comma and even Leah who wasn't even officially an Outsider yet!
"Everyone, game faces on. I know you're all hurt and tired but think of this. Whoever hurt us is going to get a major beatdown and nothing makes me sleep like a baby more than knowing my enemies are locked up in dark cold little room for all eternity!"
Holly threw open her armoire and suited her boots and sleeves up with daggers. Tonight, she would end this insanity. When she got back to the room Leah was dressed once more, Slight stood straight and proud like the man he had suddenly become, Magick's eyes glowed with intimidating power, she had been hurt most of all her best friend lay like a vegetable in the rooms above.
She rapped hard on the door of the basement. "PowerSurge! rip the damn monster's throat, he's not human and we don't need him then get ready to cause more damage" Holly turned her attention to Arach-Knight just remembering who he was.
"You...you saved my team. You had no idea who we are and we mean nothing to you and you saved us. We owe you our thanks. Circumstances would have me kick your ass to the curb and blind you so you won't betray us but circumstances have change so tell me...will you help us once again?"
Holly looked at the N.O.H.Q. It had been mutiny...She hadn't been able to change her ways and she had no other choice but to resign her title as leader over to Slight. The building was cream white but shone like ivory under the light of the full moon. It was a beautiful monument and a warm home from the outside the building just looked like any other three story house. To any passerby they'd just suspect it belonged to some charming family, a father who left for work early while some dotting more prepared snacks in the kitchen and awaited her little ones. Holly called it hiding in plain sight, who would suspect that a group of superheroes' home sat right in the middle of the suburbs?
The front door was bewitched, curtesy of Magick and Crysta, when opened to a civilian an illusion of a cozy home could be seen, the same went for the windows all any of the nosy neighbors would see was an average normal family going about their uneventful lives. Inside however, was a battle simulation room, a training room (the gym), an indoor pool, the fully stocked kitchen, the basement that used to house two of Holly's cars and three of her motor bikes, the second floor roomed the male members of the team while the third housed the female members. The lamp outdoors blinked off for a good 3 minutes and Holly could hear groans coming form inside. She allowed herself a small smirk. She had been the one in charge of paying the electricty bills and such, it was funny how these people could be entrusted with the lives of others but not the deadline for the bills.
She had payed for the building with her hard earned money, she had drawn out the blue prints and designed each person's room to fit their needs and unique tastes and yet it not longer felt like hers. Slight had taken over and she was more of an Outsider than any of them. A large crash made Holly dash for cover and she watched cautiously from the bushes. Her mouth hung open.
"Chokmah?" she asked in a hoarse whisper
She sat frozen in the shadows. He had disappeared and hadn't answered any of her SOS, she had thought him dead. What was he doing back?
