Why mid-term exams suck!

Hey everyone well as I'm writing this blog I'm also procrastinating pretty hard which shows just how well I can multi task! What am I procrastinating for you may ask, studying for my mid term exams! Let's face it, we all hate these annoying exams just BECAUSE! They really suck and almost serve no purpose yet they kind of do. I'm going to list why they suck and then I'd like for everyone to write down what they hate most about mid term exams whether it be college high school or whatever. AND what subject was their least favorite to have a mid term in!

WHY THEY SUCK

-It always takes place in the winter! That sucks because the weather is freezing (if you live like mainly in the midwest to the east coast). And your always called in to take them at such weird times like 9:30am or 12:30am like i just want to get these stupid things over with!

-Your forced to study everything from the beginning of the year to everything the mid term covers. It's extremely hard to concentrate on stuff you can care less about and study for such a long time! Especially in your worst subjects! For me the hardest mid term I'm going to be taking is spanish IV, so i have to study the geography, the history, the art, and the literature!

-PROCRASTINATION IS DEADLY! You can't help but feel this force of procrastinating come over you as you flip the next page in your meaningless notebook. You start thinking "ugh I why am I studying this I'm never gonna have to know it again..hmm I wonder what's on tv." You'll find yourself procrastinating with things you would never do in your everyday life! You'll start cleaning, organizing, and helping people!

-Mid terms count for a huge grade that can either damage your average or help and support it! PERSONALLY I DON'T LIKE THOSE ODDS!

So these are my reasons for hating them, let me know why you guys hate them or like them?

Why Daria is an awesome tv show

Daria has always been one of my top 5 favorite tv shows for a while now. When I was younger I tried to watch it on Mtv or theN but I never understood it either because Daria's vocabulary was too high for me or that I didn't have the same experiences as her since I was so young. But I decided to watch the entire series back in 2009 and I fell in love. The DAY it was released on dvd (the complete series) I bought it because I was so friggen excited and happy! Now the reason I'm even writing this blog is because I've noticed a lot of talk and support for Daria as of recently so I found it suitable to do this blog now! Users have changed their icons to characters of the show and there is an add a point subtract a point game for the characters! It makes me proud to say that I'm a huge Daria fan and when I was at my prime of that fandom I knew the show line by line, episode title and number, and I could sing the lyrics to the musical episode by heart. As of right now I can probably do half of each thing I listed but let me state why Daria was such an amazing and underestimated show.

WHY THE SHOW IS AMAZING!!!

-Daria's main audience, I think, was intended for teenagers of both sexes not just girls and not just boys. The true connection is within the perception of high school then and how it is now. LET ME TELL YOU THERE ARE PRACTICALLY NO DIFFERENCES BETWEEN DARIA'S HIGHSCHOOL AND MINE! You've got your cliques: popular (football/cheerleaders), Over achievers, geeks, weirdos, nobodies WHATEVER! Daria is still very relevant to this day. It's not hard to find some aspect of Daria's life and relate it to yours.

-The show itself is hilarious. I have never laughed at shows or movies the way I do at Daria. It's humor is just so funny and cynical that it's hard not to like it. Plus with the array of characters and personalities AND VOICES your bound to find one or two you'll like. For my favorite character is Jane but I love Daria almost as much but just a little less!

- Your not going to find anything quite like it now a days. Mtv was very different now from when it was then. Now all you have is fist pumping guidos and pregnant teens flooding that channel, meanwhile back then you had great music and awesome tv shows! Daria was underestimated at that time and I'm not sure why. It could be, because the main character was a girl that saw the world for what it was and didn't have a filter on her mouth. It could be that the show didn't get enough views? Who knows but all I know is that it was pure gold!

Favorite song from a video game?

Hey everyone so this is an extremely random blog but when I write a blog it usually comes from something I was just doing. So just before I was listening to my favorite video game song ever and it gave me the idea to write a blog about our favorite songs from videogames. Now when I say video game songs I mean like songs that were made for that game, not like Rockband or Guitar hero's track list. So my favorite video game song is Philistine from No More Heroes 2:Desperate Struggle. It's the song that plays during Margaret Moonlight's battle! It's so friggen awesome! Listening to videogame music makes me feel like I'm from some esoteric group that no one else can join, there's something more special to these songs! So everyone just write down your fav. vg songs and what game they're from! And if you want include why you like it!

Why are there no new female characters in Ultimate MVC 3?

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's thought about this, but why was there no inclusion of new female characters for ultimate marvel vs capcom 3? It makes no sense to me because there is a wide range of female characters from both sides that could've been included. I, personally, love to choose the female characters because there's something about their ability, style, and over-all character that male characters don't provide for me. Usually they're much quicker and have great technique. I was so disappointed to learn that there aren't any new female characters in the ultimate version. Instead they decide to include certain obscure character(s) that I've never even heard of such as : Rocket Raccoon, and Firebird? I mean I remember Ghost' n' Goblins from when I was a kid but I don't remember that specific villain. And who the hell is Rocket Raccoon?! Why was he included, was that some form of a joke?! I'm going to make a list or just put images of the female characters that I would've loved to see in the Ultimate Version and I would love it if you guys put which female characters you wanted to see and how you feel about the characters they chose. Personally, I liked most of them but I wanted to see more female characters. Why did they choose Frank West, wasn't he in Tatsunoko vs Capcom? They needed to pick characters that have never been in a fighting game before! So here's my list:

Marvel women: Ms. Marvel, Mockingbird, Elektra, Mystique, Songbird, Enchantress, Black Widow, Spider-Woman

Capcom women: Lilith(dark stalkers), Rouge from power stone, Rose (from street fighter), ingrid (capcom fighting evolution), juri han (super street fighter 4), sheva (resident evil 4), claire redfield (res. 2, code veronica), other female resident evil characters, sylvia (viewtiful joe). YOU SEE HOW MANY THEY COULD'VE CHOSE! theres a whole lot more but these are the women i would've loved to see in this game! so everyone write who you wanted to see and what you think

obligatory halloween blog!

Hey everyone! So I haven't done like anything in the past month or so on this site because I don't get comics anymore. (Not by choice!) So I've only been on to talk to select people bc they're awesome and I love talking to them. I also try to write blogs on certain topics so I thought Halloween is a perfect topic to talk about! Of course there's going to be like a million blogs about it and some rude people will probably write some statements like "done before" or they'll post a link to another person's blog. Well I'll say this, does everybody write the same exact thing and evince the same opinion. Not unless your communist. But anywho, so I want to talk about what I love about Halloween ever since I was little and what I love about it now! Also my favorite horror movie to watch around now and just other random stuff! So I hope you guys write what you love about it and what not! Ok so ever since I was little Halloween has been one of my favorite holidays. Trick or treating was like the best part bc you get all this candy and you get to show off your costume and just have fun. Well if I were to go trick or treating now I'd be looked at as crazy or just like a trouble maker. If I were to go trick or treating now my only thought would be "I just did all this walking and exercise and now I'm going to ruin it by gorging myself on these loads of fun sized milky ways and kitkats". I haven't gone trick or treating in a long time and I probably won't until I have kids of my own or whatever. Ever since I was little I've been watching horror movies, which may explain why I am the way I am but that's not the point. I would skip studying and homework to watch my favorite movies on AMC's fear fest, or what used to be called monster fest. I would watch all the Friday the 13ths, the Scream trilogy, all the Halloween movies, etc. I've been a horror movie junkie even though those movies do not scare me anymore. I just love the nostalgia and classic format of the horror movie genre from the 70's all the way to the mid 00's. Horror movies of today totally effing suck bc there is no substance within them. All they consist of are meaningless pop up scares which will probably make someone choke on something while they're watching it. I think that's why movies today are trying to like remake absolutely everything from the past because they either have no ideas or people want the old stuff. I think it's more so the first one. But anyway, my favorite horror movie of all time I think has to be the original Halloween! Not that Rob Zombie fucking re-make that just like stabbed a gory knife through the whole series, the ORIGINAL! I know its not the best horror movie like ever but still i love the classicness of it! The musical score, the actors, the everything! In case you haven't seen it I'll put a link in this blog below bc they do have it on youtube. but my 2nd fav is Scream. i may do a separate blog for horror movies all together but who knows. So you guys tell me what you think about Halloween all together. IT'S ACTUALLY SNOWING WHERE I LIVE RIGHT NOW SO THIS IS SO CRAZY! It's going to be a white Halloween which I have never seen before! So I'll end this blog with some words of advice 1) if your drinking make sure your with your best friends that you know you can depend on, 2) don't get too sloppy drunk, 3) try not to bite down on a razor when your just trying to eat a twix bar, 4) if a girl wants to be slutty on halloween just let her (see jenna marbles video), 5) watch loads of horror movies, 6) keep your kids safe, 7) have an awesome costume, 8) just have a fan-fucking tastic halloween!

viewer discretion is totally advised!

Add a point take a point vampire relationships!!!!!!

Hey everybody! So this type of blog has been very very popular lately so I figured to conform to the comicvine community and make one myself! So here's the rules in case you've been living under a rock: in this game/blog you add a point to the couple you want to win AND you subtract a point from the couple you want off the list! When someone is knocked down to zero votes they are ELIMINATED from the list! Then the stakes get higher as you then vote 2 points for the couple you want to win AND minue 2 points from the couple you want to get eliminated! HAVE FUN WITH IT!

9/11's impact

Hey everyone so I've decided to write a blog about this one day before the 10th anniversary of the tragic event of 9/11. I wanted to write this because I know many of us whether we were in NYC or in a different state were affected by this one way or another, and I thought it would be great to write a blog where we can share our feelings and personal experiences of that day. Now I was in the 2nd grade in New York, not knowing what was going on. I remember the weather being absolutely gorgeous and just happy that everyone was getting to leave school early. (Being a child of course all I could think about all the time was getting out of school early). Everyone was getting picked up from their parents, and the teachers were just trying to keep us occupied. I was one of the last kids to be picked up by my mom, and when we got home she started crying hysterically. I didn't understand why until she turned on the tv to breaking news. To me seeing the world trade center go down was a tragedy but I didn't understand the calibur of it all. It was a saddening day. Years later I truly understood the meaning and impact of that day and it affects me so much more now than it did then. The terrorists' heinious actions devastated the country, and for that it will never be forgiven. Now we will always have a looming threat of terrorism on our hands, constantly. Being that tomorrow is the 10th anniversary of 9/11 this threat is becoming more and more imminent. The city has already taken severe precuations to this threat by checking hundreds and hundreds of cars for bombs, security, cops, everything they can try. I pray that nothing happens tomorrow or any other day and that everyone is safe and that we don't have to relive the horror of that day. For any of you that have been affected by 9/11 I just want to commend you and apologize for that day. 9/11 impacted the United States by giving everyone a sense of togetherness and neighbourly love. Everyone started putting aside some differences and worked together on things. The media did many tributes and things for 9/11. One of my favorite tributes will always be Marvel Comics' Moment of Silence. It was brilliant. Marvel truly connected with the sadness of the people and let us know that they were affected as well. So I created this blog for people to tell their stories of 9/11 and just a place where we can talk about it.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Body

Hey everybody so in this blog I want to talk about one of my favorite episodes of Buffy the Vampire Slayer called, The Body. This episode was highly recommended to me by my friend haydenclaireheroes, which many of you know, and this episode was emotionally riveting. Not only critically acclaimed by the many fans of the series, but also said to be one of the greatest episodes of all tv history by many famous critics. Whether your a buffy fan or not, this episode was truly amazing and anyone can vouch for that. The acting, the emotion, the mood, everything about this episode was brilliant. Joss Whedon truly captures the essence of harsh reality in this episode. In this episode Buffy's mother Joyce is found dead in her living room, due to an aneurysm. Not only is there such an emotional impact because a beloved character by all has died, but the reality that this was a battle that the slayer could not fight. This death wasn't supernatural, demonic, or over-the-top. It was natural. The other aspect of the emotional spectrum is that this was Buffy's mother. Sarah Michelle Gellar's performance in this episode was one of the best I've ever seen. The way she reacts and handles her mother's death is so realistic and sublime. This episode almost serves as a window for what we all have to go through in life, and that death is inevitable. We can save the one's we love with powers, skills, or by a divine right. Nature must take it's course and Joss depicts that perfectly in this episode. Not to mention that the rest of the cast handled this episode perfectly. While feeling sympathetic for their beloved friend Buffy, but also feeling emotionally distraught that they'll never see Buffy's mom again. Someone that Buffy always came home to. Someone they knew they would have to protect. This episode really is just perfect. So I'm going to leave a clip from that scene and I'd like for everyone to comment on this blog and share your feelings. The camera angles are going to appear odd at first, but it was done intentionally. The reason is to create the feel of emotional distortion. To show how little Buffy can focus on any thing after hearing the chilling fact of her mother's death. What's also perfect about this episode was the intentional non inclusion of background music. To show how serious and emotional this episode was. So everyone just comment here and tell me what you think!

Sailor Moon Abridge's SAILOR MOON THE MOVIE!

Hey everyone so I've been wanting to write a blog about this for a while now and I'm finally going to! Right here! (well duh where else would it be?!) Anywho many of you may know the sailor moon abridged youtube series called SMA. SMA is a non profit fan based parody of the classic anime we all know and love! (ok so maybe not all of us love it but I'm obsessed so back off!) Anyway they've been making those videos for a couple of years now and have gained quite a following. So they've decided to take sailor moon to the next level and make a live action sailor moon movie! GASP! You may ask "yeah well the Japanese already did that..." yeah they did and it was effing crazy and just looked weird! So SMA's goal is to make their movie much more modern, edgy, but while staying true to the content of Sailor Moon! I for one am very excited about this movie, because they're spending a lot of time and effort on this production! So I want to talk about that here (even though this blog should probs be on animevice, I'm too lazy to make an account on that site) but I'm going to leave a couple of videos here for you guys to see! I hope they gain a lot of support! If your not a sailor moon fan get off this blog please! NOH8!

Homosexuality among specific areas! (SEE TITLE IN BLOG)

Homosexuality among the gods, supernatural, super heroes/villains, and celebrities.

Hey everyone so in this blog I just wanted to discuss the topic of homosexuality among certain areason of entertainment, literature, and regular life or whatever. So this question has always been on my mind when I read things or characters that cover this area and it is, how does their homosexuality affect themselves and the lives of others. In today's world, homosexuality has rapidly gained support and received legal rights for marriage. Undoubtedly there is still a lot of prejudice and hatred towards homosexuality. Hatred and acceptance are two counterpart concepts that always affect people that are gay. Some of us in the comicvine community have experienced both sides of that coin and many others haven't. To people that are gay including myself, we know what it's like to be gay and how it affects us and how we affect other people. So where do the other names listed in this title fit into my inquiry. Now my question and over all curiosity is, is that how does homosexuality portrayed and dispersed amongst gods in literature, supernatural beings in entertainment or literature, super heroes/villains in comic books and other forms of entertainment? I'm sure we all have thoughts about homosexuality affecting each area mentioned so that's what I'm going to cover. I want this blog to be a great area for discussion, references, opinions (non judgemental), and a place of fair community. Everyone is to respect everyone else. I don't stand for prejudice or hatred in any way shape or form. So I'm going to get started!

gods in literature, or anywhere else!

Okay so my main question in this area is, does homosexuality matter among gods or biblical figures? I mean come on we have probably all thought of this. Are they judged for being gay? What did the writers such as Plato, Socrates, Homer, truly envision when they made certain gods homosexual? Were these writers treated differently for what they had written? What about the characters of their content? Did the people that read them feel indifferent towards certain gods' sexual orientation? Are they held to a different standard? These questions always cross my mind when thinking about ancient greek/roman/ or any other form of gods. Being that they're considered "gods" and are so powerful, it seems that it doesn't matter that they're gay. Gods were created in the likeness of human beings, I suppose that entails human emotion, pleasure, and sexual orientation. It seems very common that gods would have homosexual relationships. There were even poets at the time who wrote poems about same gendered love! One in particular is Sappho of Lesbos. Obvisouly enough today we get the term lesbian from Lesbos. But on that island she wrote poems of love among women, probably because she was constantly surrounded by women. But still my question remains...just because the gods were gods, why was homosexuality so accepted upon them? I know this is all myth and everything but maybe the people that created the homosexual gods, was homosexual himself and expressed his sexuality in that way. It seems there was no negative opinion on homosexuality in the greek/roman/ what have you, myths.

In the Old Testament of the Bible, many people that were recorded that were homosexual, were often sentenced to eternal damnation for their orientation. Now we're talking B.C here so this was LONG LONG LONG ago. In ancient greek mythology, the gods were not looked down upon, so why are these homosexual people being subjected to wrathful judgement? My favorite example would be Jonathan and David from the Hebrew book of Samuel.

"My bowels yearn for you my brother Jonathan, how wonderful was your love to me, passing the love of women."

You can tell that these two people really loved each other. In this story, Saul shows so much hatred for Jonathan's sexuality which leads to Jonathan killing himself! GASP! Prejudice is clear in this era but why? What was the need for such prejudice in this time? There is no need for any prejudice at all but it makes no sense in any era.Jonathan and David were strong warriors at that time and were still looked down upon. Now this area does pretain to religious views so I would appreciate no religious hatred or prejudice either.

the supernatural....ok this one's manily about Willow Rosenberg!

SO as all of us Buffy fans know that as Willow's character progresses into a strong wiccan, we also know her character's sexual orientation takes a turn on to lesbian avenue. Now that brings up the question of "am I born gay, or did I turn gay"? Honestly I don't know the answer to that question but maybe a different blog will discuss that. Anyway Willow's homosexuality is looked at in two ways. Her being a lesbian witch, and her being a lesbian person. I feel that her being a lesbian has no affect on her witchcraft, but it has an affect on her normal life. Having to come out to her best friends was very hard but of course her friends still accepted her. But being a witch it seems that coming out doesn't even matter. Why is that? Why are supernaturals, gods, and whatever else held up to a different standard? It doesn't make any sense! Why is it that if your one thing, and that thing is above human, it's so much easier to be gay? I just wanted to use Willow as an example for this area.

Homosexuality is looked at in different views by different types of wicca or whatever. Gardneria Wicca is ANTI-HOMOSEXUALITY. It's a more traditional group which its' values are sprung from Gerald Gardner. He believed that the rites or something wouldn't work if a gay couple's love was used or something. I DON'T KNOW SOMETHING ABOUT RITUALS AND STUFF! He obviously had prejudices connected to rituals which he was devout to.

There are wiccans that are pro-homosexuality and use the ritual called Charge of the Goddess! Which says that all love is good. So wiccans and witches' beliefs are basically swayed by opinion and the prejudices of their leaders.

super heroes/villains

I think super heroes' sexuality is looked at all in the same way. In their civilian life and in their super hero life. A super hero coming out to another super hero is the same as a friend coming out to another friend. Why? Because they know each other and are friends DUH! I'm not too aware of any homosexual super villains so if you guys want to talk about some you can.

Now the character I want to use for this example is none other than Kate Kane (Batwoman). Kate was once in the military but was relieved of her duties for coming out of the closet. This is a clear breach of DADT, which stands for DON'T ASK DON'T TELL. DADT means that people who enter the military can't disclose their true orientation or give any orientation at all, and this law barred any LGBT from entering the military that were open about it. So by Kate revealing her orientation, she immediately was let go. I never agreed with the DADT policy and I'm so glad that it will be gone in late September! Although Kate was going to fight for her country, that stupid law discriminated against her and didn't let her continue. As Batwoman she's even had a relationship with Renee Montoya (the Question) so we can see she's mainly accepted among other supers! My point is here, is that comics have developed so much over the years that they've adapted to human emotion and understanding. Comics have been made to connect with people and I love that. Super heroes in comic books aren't held to a higher standard especially if they're gay. They get the same treatment as regular homosexual people.

The only villains I can really think of right now are Zoisite and Fisheye from Sailor Moon. It seemed to me that Zoisite's relationship with Kunzite (Malachite) WHICHEVER ONE YOU FOLLOW!, didn't really matter in the Negaverse. It seemed that , them being homosexual it added on to their malevolence. At least that's how I feel some authors tend to use homosexuality among evil characters. I mean who's to say that they actually felt love being that they were evil. I don't think that them being gay made them more evil. Homosexuality is not evil and I embrace it, so if that's what Naoko Takeuchi was implying THEN SHE'S WRONG! Well she probably wasn't implying that all!

celebrities

Many celebrities are very comfortable with their own sexuality and don't care what the public eye has to say. Although the public isn't ruthless when someone is okay with their sexuality. The public eye becomes a vicious animal when they prod at some celebrity who's struggling with their sexuality. Then when that person comes out of the closet, its a feeding frenzy for top news and everything! Now let's make a comparison between two types of people. Celebrities and regular people. Now when celebrities come out of the closet, it can boost their career, open new doors for them, make headlining news, and just be a walk in the park for them. But when a normal average person comes out of the closet, the reaction they get can vary. Some will accept them and love them, while others will totally reject, hate, judge, and turn away their own flesh and blood. Why is the difference between celebrities and ordinary people's coming out of the closet so different? It makes me sick that is that way because of WHO people are. It irritates me!

In conclusion!

Well in conclusion here is the thoughts and questions I've had on my mind! I've probably answered a few of them by writing this out but I'd love to hear everyone else's opinion! REMEMBER NOH8 please!
