While details of his birth remain unknown to most, those with the highest magnitude of clearance (in what circles is, itself, a mystery) know at least that Grimsrud is a human mutant, but no part of his unique physiology is due to an x-gene. Furthermore, he was exposed early in life to a bevy of tests culminating in a serum that greatly increased his physical capabilities, Arthur later being dubbed a "super soldier."
Enhanced Strength & Durability The serum has effectively allowed him to perform yet another evolutionary "leapfrog," achieving not the peak of human potential—but what humanity may one day aspire to be long after all those presently living are dead. He's capable of running a mile in roughly minute; pressing or curling roughly two tons once, and his lower body is nearly three times as strong; his striking force may breach ranges as high as tens of thousands of pounds per square inch. This strength allows him to easily support his frame, as the serum likewise greatly increased the density of bone and muscle which allows him to withstand the force of his own blows and those of other metahuman foes without injury.
Neo-Juggernaut – Endurance and Recovery While not "regenerative," per se, Arthur's body recovers at a much faster rate and more completely than the average person. It's doubtful he could regrow lost limbs; but in the event of a sprain or break, which would normally take weeks to months to heal, Arthur could recover and be back on his feet in a matter of days to [many fewer] weeks. In the heat of battle, Hel's Harbinger could withstand even grievous wounds such as full-body immolation for several minutes before going down, and make a full recovery with little to no outside influences faster than a normal human with aid. The efficiency of his body's recovery systems also slow his aging, make him naturally resistant to sickness and toxins, and fatigue much more slowly. It's entirely possible he could exert himself for days at a time before fully tiring.
Mental Acuity, Senses, Reflexes & Agility However, despite his strength and endurance, Grimsrud is far from a brute. Complementing his other physical capabilities are a sharp tactical and strategic mind that reacts much more quickly and accurately than anything seen in Homo sapiens. Enhancements in his brain decrease the amount of time between incoming stimuli, time taken for signals to reach the brain and register the stimuli, and further signals, allowing Arthur to react more appropriately to stimuli that also include enhanced-speed metahuman threats. Minimum absolute thresholds for sensory register are roughly five times greater than a normal human's - he can smell and hear better, see farther and in lower light, and note more detailed tactile sensations. Able to think more calmly under greater duress, his is a severely diminished capacity for mental impairments, and an extremely enhanced capacity to perform. He simultaneously absorbs training, hand-to-hand or with weapons, more quickly and his body allows him to train harder, longer. His total-body strength plus an uncanny agility enable him to achieve physical feats the finest sprinter, distance runner, or gymnast on the planet could only dream of.
Hel's Harbinger - Miasmic Mutation Arthur's mutation gives him an enhanced control over his body's chemical reactions and secretions, able to synthesize and secrete chemical compounds, both known and unknown, that impair those around him as well as grant him toxic immunities.
Among most common uses is Arthur's "death factor," contrasted with mutant healing factors, and with good reason. Grimsrud secretes a unique chemical compound made only inside his body which overrides biological processes and degrades organic matter. This "miasma," as he calls it, is a highly reactive, virtually indiscriminate in which receptors it binds to, or in which species. This gives a rapid onset of action and makes it capable of overriding every single bodily function in what is, for most targets, a very short time.
In effect, those in proximity to Grimsrud experience malfunctioning of both central and peripheral nervous systems. Even the most basic of chemical processes are overridden, until the body simply ceases to function. The closer one is, the greater the effects. May also amplify secretions for stronger effects in a shorter time. Although mainly used as a colorless, odorless gas, it may be liquefied and administered as a poison. However, while a liquid poison is condensed and generally faster acting (may kill even a full-grown elephant within a minute), this is considered less subtle and neglects what may be the miasma's greatest advantage—that it bypasses normally effective protections such as gas masks and filtration devices.
Not all applications are lethal or even directly combative. Manipulation of pheromones enables manipulation of emotional states and sensory perceptions of other beings. He can use these to mask his presence, including from those with enhanced olfactory senses. They also render him virtually immune to the effects of empaths, save for those whose powers are not purely physical in nature (i.e. mystics). He's been known to use this power to instill things such as intense fear, happiness, arousal, calm or confusion. Advanced applications may also be used to inadvertently lead others to certain locations via pheromone trails left behind, often without their realising they're being guided.

Simple Design Armored Suit Ragnarok's armor is a rudimentary design. Deliberately simple, the lack of advanced technology serves multiple purposes. First, it prevents him from being detected, controlled, or neutralized by technopaths, EMPs and the like, as there are no signals travelling to or from his armor and no electronics to disable.
The centerpiece of the suit itself is a kevlar vest with inlaid titanium covering his chest, providing multiple layers of protection from variable damage types (ballistics, blades, abrasion, heat and blunt force), with similar protections over the rest of his body. The cost is a heavy weight. However, due to his enhanced strength Ragnarok has no trouble moving under these circumstances and has been known to claim it is little more than a "weighted training suit" due to his already high durability and pain tolerance.
Aside from protection (or intimidation), Ragnarok's helmet is designed to protect his senses against the effects of flashbangs, and to deceptively give the appearance that it is responsible for his chemical immunities, in the event he should be exposed to such an attack.
