“Well, guess we’ll have to take that chance and hope that the food is at least good enough to die for.” Victor grinned, quite assured in his own cooking ability. He cut into the meat, the usual gamey taste cut through by the combination of spices. His dark brows furrowed over his silvery eyes. “Well, that sounds isolating to say the least. I’m sure there are tech geniuses in the city who might be able to patchwork repair the array but that would be only if you weren’t keen on keeping the interface out of human hands.” His gaze descended, his fork pushing the rice around his plate. The man muttered under his breath with an air of melancholy as he recalled the souls he had pulled into the underworld. “Humans don’t always have the best use for the power they are given.”

His attention was restored to his guest, his eyes glimmering with a smile. “I can tell you that you are near the Adirondack mountains in northern New York. The United States, if that means anything to you. Any more specific, and you’d need a GPS.” He took a bite, relishing the medley of flavours. “So, 512. Given that there is no quick prospect of getting off this rock, what could be done to make your stay more to your liking? Anything you enjoy back on your world?”

Victor’s ears perked up at the subtle creak of the floorboards, his nose twitching at the unfamiliar scent of a clean 512. His head glanced over his shoulder with a warm smile. “Ah. You clean up well. You can put your things wherever. There’s some water and wine. Lots of wine. One of my businesses is vineyards.” He wandered over to place the rice dish upon the table. His desaturated eyes scanned over her with a smile. “You do heal fast. That’s great. Oh!” He extended a finger. “I hope you don’t have food allergies or anything. I could make you something else if needed. I’m pretty used to serving up accommodating meals in the city. I’m cooking up some of that venison from earlier with some side dishes. Pick what you like, leave what you don't. I'm not easily offended.” He chuckled.

The Argent Adonis strolled back into the kitchen to finish up the meal, picking up the dishes with impeccable balance to set upon the table. The place was soon full of plates of food, the table set for the two of them, delicious scents making his stomach rumble softly. He sat down pouring himself a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon and drawing his utensils into his hands. “So, 512. Do you have arrangements to return home? I’d hate to see you go, of course.” He winked. “But after a painful landing into an unfamiliar environment with strange people, I’d be itching to get back to friends and family.”

Victor watched the tall woman make her departure, his mouth curling up at one edge in appreciation before nodding in her direction. “Well, thank you, 512. I have a feeling coming from you, that complimentary statement should be cherished.” He couldn’t help but feel based upon her manner of speaking and the history she had divulged that she was no tender soul from whom flattery would so readily come. And if his presentation had reflected in any way well upon humans, he was all the more pleased. Though he was not human himself, he took on the mantle often in his city life. The Grey Wolf sniffed, the scent of blood quickly fading into the stench of rot. He retreated from the main room off to his own to gather his own clothes and have a shower.

Fully clean and refreshed, the man emerged from his room, body clad in a simple, faded red t-shirt and jeans. His fingers brushed back his wet, dark hair before he headed into the small kitchen, open to the main room to cook up a meal. The vibrant aroma of spices, wafted from the pans. While it cooked, he whisked around, catching up some glasses, filling some with water and grabbing a bottle of red wine before setting the table.

Amidst their conversation, Victor continued listening for any sound of intruders, willing to protect his new ward should she need it. His nose twitched to catch any unfamiliar scent within the woods, grey eyes shifting in the darkness, seeing clearly the way before them. The Argent Adonis' face turned toward her, his brows knit with concern at her statement. "Executed... for failure?" While hellhounds could be dispatched and recreated, but more often if they failed in a task, they were tortured and caged. Even in hell, execution seemed a harsh punishment for what was likely a misstep. "This... Nordok is your father? Is he the one doling out murderous punishment? Seems a bit harsh." The words felt uncomfortable between them, speaking of her past. And in truth, he cared less about that than who this 512 was at present. He pushed onward, his gaze catching a far off glow. His lips spread into a satisfied smile. Almost home.

The mood was lightened more by a bit of light laughter from the Shadow Wolf. "I don't think I've ever felt so flattered by being told I'm insignificant!" A hand clapped over his heart, his face beaming as he glanced back at her. "If it keeps us from being invaded by superior alien forces, I'll happily be a boring biped. More days for me full of wine and good company."

He arrived at the cabin, a glow of firelight streaming from the windows. He wrapped upon a door, the wooden frame quickly opened to reveal a darkened face peeking out. "Hey, I brought take-away." Victor grinned, the man clearly unamused at his humour quickly took the beast from his friend. His brown eyes settled warily upon the stranger, his lids narrowing slightly. Victor reassured him in a low voice before the man retreated further inside with a shrug of his shoulders, the door closing behind him.

The Argent Adonis, free of his burden, nodded for 512 to follow him into the main house. "Apisi isn't the most gregarious. I'll leave him to tend to the deer." Extending a blood caked hand, he opened the door, golden light pouring out. "I don't know about you, but I need a shower." He smirked, looking her over. He wasn't about to suggest the towering woman needed a shower. "I can find you some clothes; we keep spares. But they might be a bit small. You are quite the Amazon, 512." He rifled through a wardrobe while he spoke. "I can show you where the bathrooms are, you can shower, change into something less battered. Ah." He pulled out a set of clothes, stacked them and held them before the pink-haired woman. He shook his head with a laugh. "Damn. I'm doing this all backwards. Usually I have dinner with a woman before I end up naked. Here I am getting you clothes and going to get some dinner. I have to say though, this is a nice change of pace." His demeanor softened but still retained a affable flair. "I'm not making you too uncomfortable, am I? I imagine to most humans I could come across as a bit eccentric out here, crazy, wild man hunting out in the wilderness with nothing but his skin. Believe it or not, I actually own a hotel in the city. I wear clothes and can be quite unassuming."

Victor nodded, his lips closing around his pearly teeth though still retaining a warm smile. "Good. Pleasure to meet you, 512. If only it was under more average circumstances with us both in clothes and less bloody. This is not usually the first impression I choose to present when meeting women." He chuckled with a wink. "My cabin is not far from here. Think you can manage?" He hoisted the doe back onto his shoulders. "I do have another person living there, but he keeps to himself. You won't likely see much of him."

His greying head beckoned for her to follow as he turned to make his way toward his second home. "You're lucky you crash landed here. Anywhere else, and you would have had all kinds of intrusive attention. Also lucky I'm such a softy. Usually, I don't let..." non-werewolfs, "strangers come to my cabin. I prefer the secrecy." Cabin was probably an understatement. He had put a lot of money into the household, the size being large enough to accommodate the rest of his werewolf family when they went on group hunts. But apart from the extra rooms, it was rather basic. Victor tried to keep it as simple as possible with just enough modern comforts to keep it from being a total culture shock from the urban environment they were all used to.

The man tightened his muscles under his load, less from strain and more to feel the physicality of his own body. There was something to be said about feeling alive, feeling at peace in ones own skin, and Victor was sure to keep that feeling close, a tangible representation of his freedom from the spiritual realm. "So, 512. That is an interesting name. I'm guessing there are more of you out there?" He let out a nervous laugh, more to release any tension than an actual display of fear. He was actually surprised himself how calmly he adjusted to having a being not of Earth invited into his home. "You're not evil extraterrestrials hoping to enslave humanity, are you? That could make dinner awkward."

Victor’s head tilted, a brow arching curiously, as he caught sight of the woman seemingly battered from the crash. “Earthling? Well… okay. I suppose that means you’re the one who came in on the meteorite.” Releasing his grip from the doe’s legs to point before holding up a palm toward her peacefully. “I have no intention of killing or capturing you… er… daughter of Nordok. Already got my meal for the night. Be willing to share too.” He patted the spoils of his hunt.

He grinned amicably at her, his countenance self-assured and fearless in the face of her snarling words of warning. He’d never met an alien before, if this indeed was the species he was addressing. And a warrior one at that, though perhaps in need of some repair. “You look a little worse for wear. Are you alright? Pretty nasty fall.”

Soon after he spoke, he let the deer drop from his shoulders onto the ground before him. His bare feet padded upon the ground as he approached her cautiously. Victor extended a hand toward her, speaking soothingly, trying to gauge her emotional state. “My name’s Victor. You don’t need to worry about me. And it will be some time before the police or UFO chasers come knocking. Probably best not to be around for that.”

Victor can inflict lycanthropy upon a bite victim but only if he intends it. And he will not infect someone who is not consenting or who he thinks cannot shoulder the burden.

The physical world was never something the Grey Wolf was aware of during his time as a reaper hellhound. His form was shadow, forged by the fires of hell. But in this form of flesh and blood, he could experience the world as a blind man given the gift of sight. The physical world never lost its sensory allure even after decades of living in the life and body of Victor Valen. Even though he loved the populous of the city, the bustle of the crowds, and the view of the cityscape on the horizon, sometimes it was good for the soul… or whatever a hellhound had, to retreat into a more primeval world of nature.

For several years, Victor had used this patch of land in northern New York to train and hunt with beings similar to him, the werewolves he adopted into his family. Today was a hunt solely for him, harkening back to the times when young Victor was finding himself in communion with the wilds. And so he ran in his canine form through the woods, the cool, crisp night air billowing through his shadowy grey coat, black claws like ebony daggers tearing at the earth beneath his padded stride. A howl rippled through his throat, echoing from out of his ivory incisors. Then suddenly, there was the smell of fur, the subtle sound of hoofs upon the ground bounding off to safety. The primal drive overtook the wolf, and he pursued the doe, overtaking it with ease in a massive bound. Powerful jaws wrapped around the animal’s throat, the flesh giving like butter in his bite. Blood spattered over his dark form, coating him with speckles of red gleaming in the moonlight.

But Victor was not a senseless beast. There was a control possessed by his kind by the very nature of their slavery. Restraint was built into their being lest they be unwieldy servants to their demonic overlords. The meditation and sense of unity possessed by the human Victor had been adopted by the Grey Reaper, giving him a feeling of control after his newfound freedom. This killing was purposeful and would be honoured, every part to be used as it was a member of his sanctuary. His hulking wolf form slowly shrunk down, the darkness fading into apricot hue. The man’s chest heaved as he knelt over the corpse. He closed his eyes, his palms feeling the softness of the fur, his nose twitching as he took in the familiar scent of copper hanging in the chilled air. Victor’s lids opened, his silvery eyes catching the glint of the moonbeams, his lips curled into a small smile.

But his moment was interrupted by the sudden glow of an object burning through the atmosphere. His gaze ascended to see the thing crash through the trees, landing with a earth altering thump. Victor’s obsidian brows furrowed. An meteorite or something? He quickly grasped the legs of his prey, swinging up up to rest upon his bare shoulders, before sprinting off in the direction of the intrusion. It wasn’t long before he stopped, his senses aware of a presence of something unfamiliar. Something… sentient. His hair prickled upon his skin. “Is someone there?”

  • Victor is bilingual but because of his nature is able to understand nearly any earthly language even if he can't speak it.
  • His businesses are eco-friendly, making use of sustainable energy sources and organic materials. Taking the more expensive route means he reinvests some of his own income into his companies.
  • He donates to animal shelters and hospitals and is conscientious about giving to charity from his place of relative wealth.
