Yes, Absorbing Man is/was capable of high-end absorption/draining prior to being further amped and enhanced with the superior, amplified Red Hulk power serum. Nonetheless, there is also something that we have to take into consideration as well.

Hulk is also capable of absorbing/draining gamma energy, so it is also quite possible for him to take the gamma back from Creel. Also, it is quite possible that is Hulk and Absorbing Man tried their absorption powers on one another at the same time that they could have canceled one another out. The irresistible force and the immovable object scenario, if you will.

Further more, if Hulk had gotten angry, thus allowing himself to become stronger and produce more power & energy rather than limiting himself by remaining calm and in control, he could have overloaded or at minimum nullified Creel's upgraded absorbing/draining power amp completely.

Besides that, we must also acknowledge that he seemed more focused on his infliction of being infected with a portion of the Omniversal entity, The One Below All.

I definitely think it should be considered a major feat of resistance!

I mean, Hulk was withstanding and surviving an amplified and perfected version of the original Red Hulk's absorbing/draining power combined with the Absorbing Man's (whose power is also greatly enhanced) own immense absorbing power for an extended amount of time!

And that was when Hulk was calm and in control, not angry and growing stronger/more powerful. Thus, since he was not allowing himself to become angry and stronger in order to increase his own power & energy levels, he was unable to recuperate/recover as fast as he would when angry.

Pretty impressive if you ask me.

Wow! What an issue! Those last two pages were horrific and terrifying! That last page reminded me of a combination of John Carpenter's The Thing and the T-1000 from Terminator 2: Judgment Day! And we got a slight psychological glimpse at the ONE BELOW ALL!!!

And damn is Hulk tough or what? Withstanding and surviving an amplified and perfected version of the original Red Hulk's absorbing/draining power combined with the Absorbing Man's (whose power is also greatly enhanced) immense absorbing power for an extended amount of time! All while he was being calm and in control, thus not allowing himself to become angry and stronger in order to increase his own power & energy levels!

So according to Jason Aaron in Avengers #8, Jen's gamma bursts are more powerful than Bruce's. Coming out in the same week as a comic which strongly implies Immortal Hulk is going to stomp the current Avengers isn't very consistent.

Take it as a truckload of salt and utter bullshit from Jason Aaron. Just because Jen makes a ludicrous boast doesn't make it true. Besides that, Jason Aaron is a hack and ridiculously inconsistent. Add into the fact that he hates Banner/Hulk and their fanbase and that's he's attempted and/or succeeded in tarnishing a long list of characters and their lore/mythology/histories. Characters like:

Dr. Strange, Thor, The Hulk, Galactus, Uatu the Watcher, The Celestials, The Eternals, Thanos, She-Hulk, and numerous others have suffered due to Jason Aaron being a total a-hole hack of a writer.

Could strange right now actually beat hulk easily?

No. He is a formidable opponent but it could really go either way. Hulk has always embodied both the supernatural and the scientific, which makes him a good match against Strange. If he was just another mindless Brute, yeah, strange would win - but Hulks physiology has consistently allowed him to break all kinds of laws of nature, even by comic book standards. Plus, they've squared off against each other multiple times. I can't really remember a DIRECT win.

The only one who can straight up defeat the Hulk is Silver Surfer, and that's only because he can literally absorb gamma energy. But as we've seen, Hulk has developed this ability himself recently.

Yes, Hulk is unique on a mystic, scientific and cosmic level. He's done things that should be impossible in all those fields mentioned, yet he has accomplished incredible feats. He's truly unique among elite powerhouses. Indestructible. Incredible. Immortal.

And don't forget that the Silver Surfer's draining technique hasn't been effective on the Hulk since Incredible Hulk #250, which was over 30 years ago. Not to mention Hulk has gotten WAY more powerful and formidable since then.

@biswaboxz:

They're going up against a threat powerful enough to destroy solar systems. A team as powerful as Hulk, Dr. Strange, Silver Surfer and Namor requires the biggest and most powerful threats imaginable ranging from Universal, Multiversal and Omniversal in scale.

And, no, Hulk alone has trounced Hyperion, so he's definitely not formidable enough for the Defenders.

Glad to see that this thread is going strong. And don't fret about the haters, @battle123axe. They're just insecure, biased haters.
