@emperorxhadesx420: I can't fault you on some of these. Again I think these things are always a matter of perspective.

As for the Barber Shop hit, Chico and Cage hardly took any rounds either. You'd be surprised how hard it is to control an automatic weapon one handed and he never sighted up...but I do see your point on this regardless haha.

The average bad guy was a bit of a gang banger trope, I agree...but I felt it was fine with what they were showing and not necessarily inaccurate.

I also don't agree Marvel doesn't have good villains. I think HYDRA, Loki, Fisk, Kilgrave, and even Zemo in Civil War have been well done. I'm not of the Mind that a villain needs to be some big, bad, overpowered superbeing to be a threat. I think Cottonmouth and Mariah were both great villains with a lot of depth.

I personally had the hardest time connecting with Jessica Jones in her first season, but I got there eventually. Cage held my attention early on better than Jones, and I feel that was largely due to the great supporting cast in Cage.

I hated Diamondback personally, I hate self-righteous, self-aggrandized megalomaniacs. His motivations were petty and self-serving (which worked, it's not a knock) and he had little in the way of redeeming qualities. I agree I felt bad for Cottonmouth, you get the story of a man who could have had it all, legitimately, but was never given a chance for anything else. Still, he was a bad man and he knew he was, and had little sympathy for those who crossed him.

I'm not trying to change your mind, but as film is art and art is subjective I always find interest in seeing why people view things and feel the way they do...I do that with just about everything in life haha. I like seeing what makes people tick.

@lukehero: Oh I didn't say I liked it, just saying I think I know where the writers were coming from. I agree you aren't seeing some celebrity shopping in some quick mart in Harlem lol. I just had the double take moment at first was all.

@lukehero: I hadn't looked at Mariah and Shade's relationship in that way. Honestly I never really knew what to make of Shades throughout the season. When I rewatch it I'll pay attention to the areas concerning Mariah and Shades (beyond the topographical) because you make some interesting points. Apparently I missed something because my wife agrees with you on this one and thinks I missed something.

I think the point was to 'ground' the show with it's fanservice. Like 'look it's the real world!' type stuff, which I agree takes from it. I don't mind easter egg type stuff, like Luke's brief 70's-look moment or Pops calling him Power Man or the crime poster with Stan Lee on it. So I think you're right fan service can be done right, my previous language might have been too harsh. I didn't think the Method Man thing worked well at all though, even though at first I was like 'oh shit, it's Meth!'.

@emperorxhadesx420: Thanks for the read. I think it didn't deliver on the action many expect with Marvel, but I don't think Jessica Jones did either. However even in the comics, from what I have read, their best stories don't revolve around action. Cage's best 'feats' seem to come from Heroes for Hire, where he's paired with Rand obviously. I think this, like the other Netflix shows, gives the 'gritty and real' look at hero stories in that you can't punch your way out of everything. However taste is subjective, the way Lukehero finds this to be Marvel's best Netflix season yet and I think DDS2 is still well above it. I won't say you're wrong, but I think it was better than an average affair personally. Where did you think it lacked if you don't mind my asking?

@lukehero: Thanks for the read man!

Yeah trope is the right word, I knew stereotype wasn't the right one but couldn't find the correct one. Thanks for that. And Mariah was one of my most favorite characters for sure. She had the 'slow burn' development from being what felt like a secondary character at first to becoming the most interesting person on screen. The only thing I didn't like about her character was the thing with Shades in the very last episode. It felt forced and awkward to me.

Method Man and Sway...I don't know what the purpose was. Like you say, fan service, which rarely goes over well in my opinion.

But I'm really, really hoping we see some interplay between between Mariah and Fisk, I feel like there is so much potential and such threat potential for the Defenders for those two coming together in some fashion.

@theacidskull: Yeah...I know...considering how they've treated Banner and Thor and Peter in recent years I really am not holding out much hope for Flash.

Honestly given how things have been in Space Knight I have a itching that Venom will have no host.

@highaccuser: You're right, but considering Norman just came out of a several year coma and his 'head being clear' for the first time in years I'd wager it was Norman as well.

But, it is comics, and who knows. I wouldn't want Green Goblin gone, but with Slott's current trend of things I wouldn't be surprised. I expected (and sort of wanted) Osborne to come back 'Iron Goblin' style, since he no longer has his powers. But it's all speculative at this point.

@theacidskull: Well I don't know for sure if they are replacing Flash, but given Marvel's recent cycling of characters to big name mantles and all the teasers in Venom, ASM, and even GotG I feel like he's going to come full circle.

And don't get me wrong: if he does die and goes down like the badass soldier he is I'm all for it. However there's simply so much untapped potential and so many stories that could have been that make it upsetting. If they hadn't done the whole 'in space' thing it would've been for the better and allowed more growth and better storytelling (keeping Bunn on the title would've helped too) with the apparent amount of time they've allotted for Flash-Venom.

@highaccuser: Just curious, since we saw Osborne when the King was unmasked when Peter beat him, who do you suspect? Do you think it's just some weird contrived plot moment?

@terry2012: Thanks for taking the time, glad you enjoyed it.

It was okay. I loved captain boomerang tbh :)

I didn't say Booms was badly done or unlikable...quite the contrary.

He just had zero impact and would have been better suited as a sequel roster member to replace anyone who died. Then he could shine more since most time went to Harley, Deadshot and Diablo and the secondary members was really Croc (Flag not withstanding).

@heatblaze123: I expected her role to be what it was, so perhaps that's why I didn't find it too over the top. Differing expectations.

@risingbean: BvS directors cut makes Clark's attitude towards the Bat understandable, but the last act where they square off through to the end is still a mess. I'd still give it a C+/B-, which is what I gave the theatrical release.

I'm one of those who prefer GotG to Thor but I also prefer the GotG in comics to Thor (Rocky is still one of my favorites). I also think Dark World was decent, not terrible as some demonize it. It was better than the first and better than something like Iron Man 2.

I enjoy the higher powered stuff like Hulk smashing his way through the Chitaurii ranks but my preference leans to the tightness and geometry of the street stuff.

To compare past to present I think Clark and Zod are a HUGE improvement over something like the final battle between Neosho and Smith in the Matrix from a CGI and choreographical stance.

@risingbean: Like I said, I think Ayer was influenced a lot by GotG. I think MoS is still better than BvS, and it might be personal bias in that I like many of the characters in SS but not a fan of Superman that has me rate SS higher.

I think some of the music was spot on, like playing Sympathy for the Devil when introducing Amanda Waller, but there were plenty of other times it felt forced such as cramming Bohemian Rhapsody into the last scene for no apparent reason.

@lukehero: It is personal preference but I prefer street level combat to Superman's epic slug fests. Both are entertaining but I like the tight knit choreography of Batman or Deadshot's targeting rack'n'stack elimination to shattering buildings.

But like I said personal preference and both are very entertaining.

Thanks for taking the time guys.
