The world was unmade in seven days
The world was told a lie. It was told that in seven days a black hole would consume the earth, and every living being in it would die. This knowledge was backed by evidence, it was certain. Seven days. Seven days was how long the world had left, and seven days was all it took for the world to tear itself a part.
Justice systems and governments fell to pieces, the internet was destroyed, closest friends and families were betrayed. Who needs such petty things when life as all knew it was about to end? Life became meaningless, and there was never going to be any regrets, so man's base pleasures were met.
The atrocities committed during those seven days are unmentionable, and therefore when the sun rose on the eight day, it brought forth guilt and pain. The amount of suicides that day had to outnumber any day this world has ever seen.
Everyone lived for themselves, and there is not one person, no not one, who could deny their sin. Some reacted to it with humility, others with pride, but one reaction that was common throughout all the new lands was to forget. No one speaks of those days, no one dares to, and everyone tries to replace those memories in their own way. No one may speak of those days, but everyone still knows, deep down inside, the monsters that were home to this new world.
Origin
Giovanni Di Guerra grew up with a lifetime rival and best friend, Aadi Zuòzhàn. Before the seven days, they both trained from a young age under the same sword master, but each chose a different sword. Aadi chose the katanna, while Giovanni chose the rapier. They battled many times together while in training, and have each lost to the other many times. Once they were older, they joined the Royal Elite Guard of Sky City, the only city to fly above the ground because of the magnetic axis of the rock on which the city and castle were built. The city was a shining light to all others as it pointed to the peak of human achievement in every way. Sky City was a country in every right, and it flew all over the world, keeping peace.
Of course, this all changed during the seven days. After this event, Giovanni and Aadi set sail on a boat, they decided to run from the world, to places where no one knew their faces except each other. That dream to be strangers in the new lands soon faded. Living of solitude out at sea is a hard life, and soon they saw themselves pillaging villages. At first it was for supplies, like food and medicine, but it was not long until the two discovered how much they enjoyed the thrill. They took children as slaves and whatever woman pleased their eyes. They became known as the most ruthless pirates that sailed the seas.
That is, until one stormy night. A ship with red flags and the words "Crimson Avengers" on the side had caught their attention, a ship which on it must of had many pleasures and prizes. No, there was no pleasure or prize these pirates would spare themselves. They set their army of children to fight these men, and of course like every other time, the grown men hesitated to fight the children, which they used to their advantage. They began to take the Crimson Avengers for all they were worth. That is, until a child, the captain's child, stood in their way. Now, Giovanni was not new to killing to get what he wanted, it had become second nature to him, so when that child stepped in front of him, he dug his sword right into that child's heart, and the child dropped dead.
All of a sudden, the fighting stopped.
Everyone was staring at Giovanni in horror. His army of children were able to identify with the helpless victim, and the Crimson Avengers had this look on their faces like he just made a very big mistake.
Until this deadly mistake, the captain of the Crimson Avengers had not shown his face. Aadi and Giovanni simply thought he was a coward, but how wrong they were. Once the silence became overbearing, the Captain stepped out of his chambers. In front of him lay his only child, killed ruthlessly by these worthless pirates, and he screamed.
Now, Giovanni and Aadi had been away from land since the seven days occured. They had visited shore several times and heard stories about monsters and how the world had changed, but thought it all nonsense. They were about to be shown first hand that it was not.
The captain's scream seemed to go on for a long time, and then it seemed as if he was no longer screaming about his child, but about the pain he was feeling in his body. His scream started becoming much more lower, and louder, it was so loud. Then all of a sudden, almost like the captain ripped out a part of his soul, he turned into a monster. the captain became a werewolf and attacked Giovanni and Aadi. These were two very skilled swordsmen, with feats that had become children bedtime stories to scare them to sleep, but they were no much for such a creature. This creature had superhuman speed, reflexes and strength. And it was angry. With one hit he knocked the two pirates back onto their ship, and proceeded to follow them and destroyed their ship in the process. The werewolf held back from killing them for some reason. It was almost as if the werewolf had known Giovanni before, the way he looked at him, with so much hatred, but almost as though it was betrayal rather than just a senseless murder.
The werewolf left them, by themselves, beaten and unconscious, on their shipwreck they had called home for so long. They were stranded, in deep ocean, with no one to help them, and no hope of survival.
It seemed like so long that they waited on that shipwreck for death to take them, but death never came. It laughed and mocked them and they starved and became dehydrated. Then finally, a storm came. This was a fierce storm, one the likes they had never seen. It was almost as though the ocean roared at them, as though it was getting ready to feast. With one giant wave, they were drawn under water and knocked out.
How they came to be at where they ended up was a mystery.
They both awoke on their ship in calm waters. Not just any calm waters, the calmest they had seen, so calm it defied logic. There were no ripples of water coming from where objects were in the floating on the water, it was just completely still. As they peered off the side of their shipwreck, they saw a platform, with many glowing figures standing, inviting them to come and drink of the cup they offer. Both pirates went and drank from the cup, and the water felt like it fit perfectly in their mouth. It tasted sweet to the mouth, but was bitter to the stomach. The one who gave them their drink warned them to close their eyes, as the great Lord was going to make His presence known. They did, and as soon as the Presence appeared, their eyes began to burn from the blinding light, even though their eyes were closed, and they fell flat on the floor, face down, unable to move before this power. They had explained to them that they were given a great power each when they drank from the sea of glass, and that they were standing on the edge of their known universe. They were told who this Presence was, and given a mission to unite together all the peoples of earth under His Lordship once more. They agreed and thanked this strange Presence for sparing their pitiful lives, and once they were able to open their eyes, they were back on earth, on their ship, fully repaired, and sailing the seas.
Giovanni had been given the gift of Teleportation, and Aadi had been given the gift of Phasing.
The two rivals, best friends, had and argument after what happened that stormy night. It was the first thing they had disagreed on for a very long time. Giovanni wanted to start the mission as soon as possible, to help the world become united under the leadership of God once more, but Aadi wanted to use his powers for his own gain. He wanted to find the Crimson Avengers, and take back the honor they stole from him. Then he wanted to find a way to take the power of the Almighty, who they were just faced with, and take his thrown.
With that, the two rivals, best friends, would soon become the worst of enemies. One would fight for justice and peace, and the other for revenge and power.
Powers
Giovanni's teleportaion powers were given to him by the waters from the sea of glass, which are powerful, as they are the wall between this universe and what lies beyond, they are the bridge between matter and non-matter, space and no space, time and eternity. Because of this, he is able to use his teleportation ability to it's full extent by choosing to constantly teleport.
Teleport: There is no space Giovanni is unable to teleport. When he reappears in a place, if that place is a solid, the solid will not disappear, nor him, but the solid (and any other matter) will be pushed aside, no matter it's weight or density. When he teleports, it is almost as if he is venturing to the place beyond the sea of glass, there is no matter he is unable to appear on, it seems in that moment outside this universe, there is unlimited space for him to travel anHe can also teleport other objects/people.
Flying/levitate: by constantly teleporting, he is able to fly a levitate because he simply teleports from one space to the next.
Super speed: His reflexes and actual speed of movement are not actually altered, but because he is able to constantly teleport, and telport far distances, he is able to get around very quickly
Teleport into things: this essentially makes that thing explode.
Rapier: He is efficient with this blade
