Top 4 Best Independent Comics (GhostRavage Edition)

List items

  • Astonishing story telling, bizarre and all around awesome. Just by the first issue you can tell how good the series is going to be. Image Comics really made a master piece with this one 10/10.

  • Stan Lee is back with Boom! Studios... Do i need to say more? Regardless, very good story telling and sick plot twists.

  • Hancock isn't anywhere near this guy in pure laziness while possessing extremely powerful powers. Very refreshing, sarcastic and nasty, definitely a top notch work here from MonkeyBrain Comics.

  • Since 1994, vigilante X is kicking ass in the most dark and merciless ways. Bloody and aggressive 90's style but incredibly rewarding. Definitely one of Dark Horse's best reads.

@ghostravage: I actually really like the old runs of Bloodshot. Oh, The Sword. Angel, but then you are going to have to watch 7 seasons of Buffy and 5 seasons of Angel on Netflix. :D New Bloodshot is good as well. New Ninjak is good. Did you already read Kick Ass?

Only read Saga but I don't think it's the best.

I used to read but kinda dropped out of it. It was a good series

Most impressive Gravage.

I myself heard of only 2 of the 4 titles. Saga and X.

Im very Indie mainstream myself. Characters like Godzilla, Invincible, Spawn, Angel, Predator, Terminator, and Star Wars as indie favs. The only series I own that is out of the norm is Dark Tower Graphic Novels about Stephen King's book series, and you should read the books to grasp the comics full potential. Excellent artwork and story telling tho. Astounding Wolf Man, Haunt, Street Fighter, and Bomb Queen may be another good example of non popular Indie titles lol.

Anyway I recommend Astounding Wolf Man, Invincible, and if you like good art and fighting, Street Fighter. Those Udon Comics are disgustingly well done.

I agree with most of Fizzywhizzy's suggestions. i also recommend, and very much like the following which I suggest you check out:

  • Planetary. A relatively unknown, short lived, small run of a book presented by Warren Ellis and John Cassiday from the Wildstorm imprint. Only made it 27 issues from 1999 to 2009. SHEER UNADULTERATED GENIUS. READ IT!!!! won't be disappointed.
  • anything done by the current relaunch of Valiant. I am fond of......alll of it. Bloodshot, Ninjak, Eternal Warrior, H.A.R.D Corps, X-O Manowar, Harbinger, Shadowman, etc.........
  • have you read......Y; the last man?
  • I was a big fan of The Authority when it was in it's prime.
  • PLEASE tell me you have read everything containing Luther Strode. If not.....do so.
