This series has been consistently awesome since it began, and this was a perfect ending to this arc. I'm sad to see it end, as it's one of the few titles at Marvel I really care about these days. Hopefully Scott will be back soon, with another equally capable creative team.
I just have to ask, does anyone actually like tie-ins? This summer Civil War 2 had me dropping books left and right that I had previously loved. Even when I'm enjoying an event, keeping track of tie-ins just seems like a huge pain in the ass.
I feel like big, universe spanning events used to seem like such a huge deal because they happened so infrequently. Having a world that feels persistent is great, but having to subscribe to 15 different books every year just to follow some over-hyped, gimmicky event is just annoying.
I'm thinking of dropping a few Marvel Titles as well. Marvel is screwing up BIG TIME they are popping out books that i'm NOT interested in at all.......*sigh*
Not only that, but almost every character I've invested in has gone to crap or done a 180 on itself.
Vision is great. Thats the one title this entire year which surprised me! But, I've dropped Strange and a few others. Its not doing it for me.
I couldn't stomach Aaron's Strange at all, and I'm a huge Doctor Strange fan. It's like he doesn't know the character at all. I'm tired of writers who just hop in and write the characters however they want, with no regard for their longstanding traits and development. It's really just bad writing.
Marvel does still have a few gems, but it isn't the stuff getting the most attention. Vision and Moon Knight are both amazing books that push the limits of what a super hero book can be, and Silver Surfer and Ant Man have been consistently great for the duration of their current runs. Other than that, there isn't a whole lot at Marvel keeping my attention. My pull list is heavily gravitating towards DC these days. If you told me that would be true a year ago, I would have laughed my ass off.
Yeah, is it me, or has this site been slim on the content in the last few weeks? There hasn't been a review posted since September. At least we have plenty of previews, including lots of Japanese hentai books... :/
Maleev is a great artist. Bendis is a shitty writer about to tackle one of the best villains of all time. What nightmarish times we live in
Could not agree more. Just looking at the art and the fact that it's Doom, I feel like this should be something I would automatically pick up. But from just those few pages of pointless garbage, it's obvious this is going to be a very well-polished turd.
And who is the twat in the hood? It felt like Bendis just inserted himself into the book as a character as a vehicle for his horrible dialog.
