@frozen: Interesting, for me it's the opposite. Also, X-Men DoFP was that good for you?
Days of Future Past is quite remarkable as a comic-book film. Not only did it manage to retcon the bad X-Men films, but it also had compelling performances and exciting action sequences. It could have been a convoluted mess but managed to accomplish its job while also telling a thoughtful story.
Kinda strange seeing Civil War on here, especially since a lot of people consider Winter Soldier to be a lot better, but good list overall.
Huh? Since when do more people consider Civil War to be worse? From what I can tell Civil War got better ratings than Winter Soldier did.
Anyway, my reasoning is that Civil War chose to deviate from the MCU norm of having a destroy the city/world plot by having the Avengers tear themselves apart rather than the typical stuff we see. This allowed for a more personal story to emerge.
@frozen: Winter Soldier had a higher metacritic user score than Civil War, and most people I've interacted with stated they liked Winter Soldier more. Not saying that everyone liked WS more, but that a lot do.
Personally, I found Civil War to be a disappointment. I liked the concept, and it was definitely a good movie, but I found Winter Soldier to be better in pretty much every way like HigorM said.

Civil War has a higher IMDb score than WS. I just think the risks paid off more in Civil War. It was a more memorable film than than WS.
@frozen: Winter Soldier had superior action sequences and the plot was better executed. Civil War felt a little forced, especially the Scarlet Witch/Vision scene which felt out of place and cringey. I didn't like RDJ being such a big part of Spiderman's life, either and the humor wasn't all that great. Civil War might be more memorable, but Winter Soldier was a much better film IMO.
Good list. I think Rises gets unjustly bashed by some people just because it wasn't as good as TDK. IMO, it wasn't far off and was a more than worthy successor. I'm also surprised at the inclusion of Dredd.

Definitely. The film was actually ranked among the best comic-book movies. It wasn't as good as TDK but neither was Batman Begins, instead of trying to top TDK it instead brought the Batman story full-circle.
I liked Dredd, definitely a stylized film but it worked.
