I disagree with KC being so high. It deserves a spot on the list for sure but I see at least 2 stories I would place above it. Also, I believe this list is missing such gems as The Killing Joke, All Star Superman, Wolverine Origin, Weapon X, The Authority etc. I could go on. But I assume this is still being built as per "(for now)"
@pperspectiveandreality: While I have often cited Killing Joke in my top Batman stories, I find it, upon re-review inferior to The Dark Knight Returns which was interesting for the social commentry it gave for the time, Year One which IMO is the definitive comic-book origin for Batman and Son of the Demon which is perhaps the rarest yet best League of Shadows story.
Kingdom Come is better than All Star IMO, it was simply more compelling and the art-work made sure of that.
@lukehero: Watchmen is #3, I preferred Kingdom Come due to the characters involved. Also no Hush either, Loeb's story-lines are too silly and convoluted.
If I were you, I'd check out Superman Red Son, Stormbreaker: The Saga of Beta Ray Bill, Beta Ray Bill Godhunter, Miracleman, and The Ultimates. These are some stories I really enjoyed.

Admittedly, the issue I had with KC was that there weren't enough feats so I see the reasoning behind it being so high. I agree with you about Year One. to me, YO is just one of those things that will never be replaced or bettered. Finally, I still havent finished TDKR so that claim has me eager to reach the end.
Batman Hush was good mindless fun but the plot was lacking imo. It would make a GREAT Batman movie with the right director and the omission of a few characters.

Red Son I have read, I should edit that higher
Admittedly I've not read much Beta Ray Bills, though I have read The Ultimates which was great (bar Hulk)
@frozen: The Beta Ray minis were surprisingly really, really good. They're the books that shaped his character, and are some of my favorite books. You really don't need too much knowledge on the character, to understand them.
