@monteiro15:

Ah, back when I originally wrote this, I had never even heard of HAIKYUU!! before. That just looked more similar to a soccer ball. I hope some of my data was helpful in your research project.

Points I found interesting during my initial research. Manga is often stigmatized in the US as being sexually exploitative of women. Yet, manga has a far larger readership. ONE PIECE alone outsells every book Marvel publishes combined. We in the US have no idea just how many different manga series are running at any given time in Japan. We see the cliche of 'hentai', but that's only because those are the series that are brought over to the US.

@stormmagician

Well, it's a smaller sample size, but I would think it wouldn't be too different from the bigger publishers. Oddly enough, you'd think the ratios would be more favorable with the larger readership.

People should have known something such as this was coming when they started crossing the standard and Ultimate universes, "killed" Wolverine, then brought back Gwen Stacy (I don't care that she's some alternate world version.).

Now, they're completely getting rid of the Ultimate Universe, where actions and deaths actually had consequences.

Seeing what's become of Marvel comics makes me so glad that I completely got out. I like their movies, but the comics have become ridiculous.

Come over to manga, people. You get all the consistent story and art through the entire series. They're also more cost effective. $9.99 often gets you a 200+ page volume. If you'd like a more American-based manga, look up Gold Digger by Fred Perry. They also don't over charge digital editions. Gold Digger cost $0.99 an issue on Comixology.

Good to see they took this down. Kickstarters really shouldn't be used as promotional tools for products that were going to get published anyway.

Good to see Captain Marvel getting more attention, but was Carol Corps. really their first choice in names?

It's a little concerning that they're going into production with still no word on the casting of a new Spider-man. People were certain that Spidey would have a big role to play for this film. I always felt they were a bit delusional to think this was going to be a one-to-one interpretation of the comic version. This is CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR and not an AVENGERS movie. Although, I certainly thought the new Spider-man would debut in this movie.

I will admit that this cast is larger than I thought it would end up being.

I wonder who Martin Freeman will be playing? Such a big deal was made about his casting.

When I look at this version of the Joker. I just keep wondering if he's a big Sex Pistols fan. He's giving off a major Sid Vicious vibe. Although, you have to sympathize with anyone who has to follow Heath Ledger's version.

I still feel that DC and Warner Bros. are being incredibly presumptuous putting all this SUICIDE SQUAD stuff out there when their JUSTICE LEAGUE movie is so far off. They put out a Suicide Squat cast photo before a picture of their Justice League. Heck, BATMAN V. SUPERMAN won't be released until next summer. They really give the impression that they're rushing on creating their own cinematic universe in their attempt to catch up with Marvel.

It seems that most of these 'villains' for SUICIDE SQUAD will get their film introduction in this movie. Their skipping the role of villain and moving straight to anti-heroes.

I would totally love to dress up as a Snowtrooper in the winter as I shovel snow. That would be so fun.

I really like that Marvel is avoiding calling this movie Ms. Marvel, and keeping with the Captain Marvel name. Seeing that Perlman was a Guardians co-writer is also a good sign.

I still look at this outfit and keep thinking, "Super-casual-man".

Next, I want to see Guardians of the Galaxy vs. The Avengers on Family Feud. If only to hear Vin Diesel answer "I am Groot" at least once.
