I have seen two completely separate reviews of this movie that have both described this movie as being similar to a pilot to a TV series. One had said, it was like a pilot to a TV show you'd likely not watch.
Apparently, this movie is suppose to have some really terrible end scene to it.
@foxxfireart: I agree...the ending was terrible and felt rushed. I wish they showed more of how Kakashi was a Hokage and how he felt without the sharingan. Kakashi is my character and I hope as a Hokage, they will show him as a badass.
The Kakashi hokage thing was one of the most confusing points of the ending for me. Why was he suddenly just appointed as hokage? Tsunade didn't die or suffer any injury that made it impossible to do the duties of hokage. At no point did Kakashi even express that he wanted it. He only took it reluctantly while Tsunade was out, after the whole Pain thing; but it was then taken by Danzo. They took the title of leadership away from her and gave it to a Kakashi, who has never been less powerful. He no longer has the sharringan at all. They have that time skip, and you discover that Kakashi just gave the title to Naruto some time offscreen. So, after 15 years of reading, we never even get to see the moment he obtains his series goal.
@foxxfireart: I started disliking the series the moment the story and Naruto's goals then centered around Sasuke & the Uchiha. Quality went downhill from there
Yeah, Naruto's absolute Sasuke obsession is what really hurt the post-time skip era. The end of their fight at the end read more like some yaoi script. Sasuke's motivations made no damn sense at all. He wanted the world to hate him as hokage, but always wanted to do that from the shadows. If he's doing it from the shadows, how would anyone know to hate only you? The whole point of doing things from the shadows is to direct blame to others.
The Ninja War Arc revealed that the Uchiha were the most emo clan of anime.
Huh, something that is sure to be just as disappointing as the end of the actual manga story. Seriously, that ending was terrible.
The entirety of Part 2 was terrible.
Stop. Your hatred for the Ninja War and parts leading up to it are clouding your judge. Part 2 was amazing, until after Pain attacked Konoha. Then everything went down hill fast.
I enjoyed NARUTO up until the point Naruto started to become a hero of destiny. It felt like a betrayal of the series' core concept.
While the Ninja World War had some nice moments and scenes, the story of it and how it all ended was utter garbage. Kishimoto kept raising subjects that he never explained (dark and light chakra), and that final chapter read like a poorly crafted fan fiction.
