Both. I love the old storytelling style and format of the books from the 40’s through the 60’s just as I love old movies from the 30’s and 40’s or anime from the 60’s and 70’s. It’s great to see those early stories, older art styles and the roots of characters we still love today. It makes my heart happy to read the Marvel Masterworks and the DC Golden Age and Silver Age collections. Knowing the old stories adds layers to new comics, because we can get references, see paths of development and characters’ evolution with a deeper understanding. I believe we can appreciate new comic stories more if we have reasonable knowledge of the older stories.
I Agree on that old book have room for new stories like this where we see a golden age Heroes match up with New heroes &I think that is really awesome so who like as a team up with Golden Age Hero / Heroes ?
As a massive Tim Drake fan. I have his first appearance as Tim, his first appearance as Robin. All his mini series, and issue 1 of his main series. Pretty proud of them.
for me its going to be anything by Jim Steranko art wise or my mint issue of The Brave and the Bold Vol 1 25 that I sold for 600.00 :( because I was getting married to now Ex-wife but moving on that is what I'm looking for now to rebuild my collection .
Hi gang it's me fmen2016 and I have fun question "what is The holy grail of your comic book collection?" & this can be anything that you feel it is , so what issue that you have or that you are looking for to finish your run on arc that you have reading ? like I said this just a fun question .
This won't be surprising considering my username, but I love ads in comics. I like the 3 Musketeers ads from the 90s. the Jack Davis Slim Jim ads from the 70s are also favorites of mine.
