I cant tell whether this is Bat wank or bashing the rest of DC.

It's a realistic prediction of DC film events based off the current climate of DC.

WB is going to do exactly what I said tn the op sooner then later. How will you feel about it? It's happening.

The Eternals are mad interesting. Super easy sale for Marvel. They'll be an instant hit.

I forgot to mention in the op Batman sales more merch alone than the rest of the DCU combined. Literally. The best move WB could make would be to give Batman his own universe. It would set things right. Instead of trying to force two separate universes to mix. The DCEU and the BCU.

DC in total revenue has made more money off Batman then the whole DCU. It's time to stop fighting it. WB already knows Batman is the only DC hero that sales consistently.

@richardcranium: you think WW should just have her own set of independent movies outside of any DCU?

The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Marvel Studios has tapped Matthew Firpo and Ryan Firpo to pen the script for The Eternals.

No further details were provided, but this latest piece of news does come in hot on the heels of Disney CEO Bob Iger telling shareholders last week that Marvel was looking to launch a new franchise relatively soon and while many assumed it would be a film based on The Eternals, nothing had been confirmed until now. The Eternals now joins the Untitled Spider-Man Sequel, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, Black Panther 2, and Black Widow as titles that have more or less been confirmed for Phase 4.

For those unfamiliar, the story of the Eternals began over five million years ago when the Celestials visited Earth and performed genetic experiments on early proto-humanity - creating two divergent raches: the long-lived Eternals and the genetically unstable Deviants. As for which characters we may see, THR strongly implies that Ikaris, Sersi, and Thena will be among the many characters introduced.

@xzone: This.

Also add Hulks redemption and a little bit of Cap to Thanos's butt kicking.

Agree, except that Wonder Woman should also be promoted for gender equality which the current comic community is seriously lacking.

I have been saying it for a few years. DC should be marketing ONLY Batman and Wonder Woman and get rid of the rest of the superheroes. It cuts unnecessary marketing costs involving other superheroes and will help WB's profitability in the long run. Superman and the rest of the non-Batman, non-Wonder Woman superheroes seemed no longer relevant to the masses.

yep. promoting the DCU is a giant waste of time. When you got the Batman universe, that's a proven seller everyone is waiting for. WB already knew this though. They were looking at that MCU money licking their lips and got stupid. Now that they've had this epic disaster the DCEU they'll do what they already knew they should have. The BCU.

Dude, it's going to happen. Honestly WB should have lead with it. Batman IS DC. Deal wit it. When someone says DC has great videogames what they mean to say is Batman has great games. Arkham, Lego Batman, TT Batman. The only game that's not totally his is Injustice. But that game features more Batman universe characters then others. Most have one from their universe. Some have two at most. Batman has 10 characters in Injustice from his universe. Take the Batman elements out of it and it would be unsellable. Comic sales before Rebirth was just a bunch of Marvel titles and random Batman comics in the top 50 every month. DC is doing a bit better now getting other heroes comics to sale. But Batman is still the boss. Last month all the DC comics in the top 10 were Batman related titles.

On the animated side it has become a running joke how DC makes 90% of them about Batman. Or he's a lead character.

Movies: the only noteworthy series for DC heroes in 20 years is TDK. When someone says DC has the best villains they're talking about Nolan villains.

Even all the most pushed DCEU films are all Batman related. AND LOOK AT HOW MANY THERE ARE! Harley solo, Joker origin, Batgirl, Nightwing, Gotham City Sirens, Batman solo, Joker and Harley love story and Birds of Prey. You know there is a bad problem in DC when WB starts giving Harley precedence over members of the League.

At this point the rest of the DCU is literally just getting in Batman's way. WB is literally trying to mesh two film verses at the moment. The DCEU and the BCU.

They gave it their best trying to force the DCU into MCU like position. That's done now. They already announced the end of the DCEU. WB said no future films will be tied to the DCEU. They said all of them will be standalones with no cameos moving forward. That ended the DCEU.

Now WB is going to do what they should have done from the start. Put the focus back where it's always been and stop trying to be Marvel. Batman has always been the money maker. The BCU will be WB's next big announcment.

Gamora's by a long shot.

Gamora because of the build up and nobody above the age of 8 thought Superman would stay dead so the scene was weightless.
