Yeah that's my fault there @aseigfried. I def could have explained it better. Crank's about we enthusiasts moving from isolated hero imagery and into sequential art. I could see your piece as a splash page and it's acceptable as is --- if you make the text a part of the frame, somehow. If you wanna do more though that'd be great too.
I'll do my best to give you some of the benefit of my inexperience fo sho Fuzzies... and if you mention that you are amenable to some criticism others may well give of their wisdom too.
Also @ramsillustrations will you be entering this round? No pressure if you're busy though.
Be cool if you did enter the round, @mofetaclueca. I extended closing till the 20th Feb cause I figured Christmas and NY would've thrown most people a little out of whack. (almost a month left still.
Verah nice @aseigfried... Is that your finished page or will there be more panels? Either way it looks really cool.
Yeah she doesn't wear it. Although she does wear lipstick and doesn't it seem bizarre that she goes out in public and does something no other girl alive does..? Plus the blue goes with her leotard.
Mind you I've been slammed before for giving advice so I'm zipping my cakehole.
I think you have to pay a bit more attention to where light is coming from. If it's from the right of the page you could highlight sg's hair on that side and lighten the blue and red of her costume too.
I don't think the brown is your best choice of bg colours either because it isn't representative of anything in particular. I straight fade isn't as effective as split tones either.
Maybe you could put light blue eye shadow over her eyes to bring them out a bit more too.
I did a bit of a touch up to show you what I mean.
