His ongoings have actually been pretty good since back in the 90's when Peter David was writing for him. Unfortunately that was when he got his hand cut off and was wearing a hook for awhile so he was getting a lot of hate...but the actually stories are pretty good.

The Triton Saga in particular still ranks among Aquaman's best stories ever

Yeah I hear David's run was another strongly written stint in Aquaman stories. The Water Hand storyline was well received I also hear but it did lead into that awful new Aquaman series as a result with...I can't even remember the second Aquaman's name because it was that bad.

@lvenger: I think you're referring to Arthur Joseph Curry. but yeah. The Water Hand stuff was a little up and down, but still enjoyable overall.

Still...Johns' run is probably going to go down as the best one ever. I think its pretty clear the impact its had on the character, which even with his lack of popularity is still very impressive for a character that is 70+ years old.

Hopefully Jeff Parker keeps it up, can't say I've read anything by him but I hear very good things.

@fallschirmjager: Yep that's the guy. I have experienced recent disappointment from Johns given his Justice League work, lackluster conclusion to his Green Lantern run and what he had Superman do in Trinity War but people do say his Aquaman run is one of the best. So I guess I'll have to check it out at some point as one of Johns' past works I might be able to abide by.

I'd highly recommend it. The first volume is a little slow in terms of story, but the things it introduces are major factors later in the run. And he pretty much deals with the stereotypes of Aquaman directly in the character's interactions which is so awesome. So I'd recommend just starting there to be honest, if you haven't read any of it. It only gets better each volume.

Thanks. He's actually a new addition. I always liked him mostly because of how badass he looks when he's Archangel, but I recently read through a bunch of his stories and immensely enjoyed them.

@fallschirmjager: Yeah has always been in my top 3 heroes. Think he always looks ace and love how he's overcome what Apocalypse has done to him. Love his current lighter tone in All New x-Men to. Can't understand why people think he's boring.

@fredcdobbs: I actually dropped ANXM. Just didnt' like it that much and I don't like Immonen's art.

Hoping he shows up on a different book. I would kill for him to come back on X-Force lol.

Also missing Colossus too! He would be in honorable mentions some where.
