Heroes and villains, let's see what you've done

  • I'm a little behind on GL's current affairs, but Johns' run will always be a staple for me. GL Rebirth and onward really captured my imagination and lured me further into the world of comic books. For that, plus the lesson in will power, Hal will always be an all-timer for me; an avatar for which I can enter the GL universe.

  • Bruce Wayne, The Batman, was the first superhero I ever really loved. I remember getting a special Batman figure as a kid - for the animated series - and I was hooked after that. The Animated Series bred me into the superhero fan I am today.

  • Ollie's the most violent liberal badass you're likely to find. What's not to like? The Van Dyke rules and you need to bow down.

  • The world could always use a little more Deathstroke in it. Slade Wilson's appearance in The Judas Contract is what really hooked me with this character, an interesting anti-villain.

  • Good ole Kal El. If only Trump could've built a big enough wall and kept this illegal alien out... We'd be so better off.

  • The once-greatest GL is an utterly enticing character. Sympathetic even. Thaal Sinestro's character arc through Johns' run was truly something to see and made me a huge fan of the character.

  • Oftentimes John is relegated to the "straight man" role in GL comics. But here's a character with tremendous pain and inner strength. John will always be an integral member of the Corps for his leadership abilities and armed forces experience.

  • Brainiac is the type of cold, calculating villain that I adore. You just want to give him big cuddles the whole night thru.

  • Working my way through Alan Moore's Swamp Thing was one of the best decisions I could've made this year.

  • Well, I certainly miss Nightwing, but the Boy Wonder is still one cool customer.
