I've always felt that the Pulps always had some of the best characters in literature. These are truly the heroes who have nothing but skill and wits to keep them alive. Doc Savage for my money has always been Captain America and Batman rolled into one. I also love the Shadow, Mandrake, the Rocketeer, and newer guys like Indiana Jones, the Twilight Avenger and Darkman.

Personally, I hated every minute of most the Movie after the big reveal. At first, I thought it was a plot by Mandarin to paint himself as an imbecile and fool Tony Stark... not to happen. Ever since this franchise got off the ground I've clambering for the Mandarin and when this is what I got. BIG LET DOWN!

I too would love to see Flash (Wally West) and Spider-Man (Peter Parker) team up.

Also :

Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) & Capt. Mar-Vell

Lobo & Deadpool would be epic!

Nightwing & Gambit

Superman & Marvelman (Modern)

Justice Society & Invaders (All their WWII Heroes)

Deathstroke & Wolverine

Authority & Defenders

Doc Savage & Capt. America

Batman & Moon Knight

JLA & Avengers PART II

Sorry it took so long, I tried to cut and paste and it didn't register the text.

This was an excerpt from George Perez's Facebook page. Truly a sad announcement. RIP Mr. Barreto.

This is a post from George Perez's page of Facebook.

George Perez,

"I was totally stunned to learn of the death of former TITANS artist Eduardo Barreto, at the incredibly young age of 57 (which is the same age as me). Eduardo was probably second only to me in number of issues of the NEW TEEN TITANS drawn during its initial run. He was an exceptional draftsman and, as I learned in my only meeting with him during a convention, a very nice gentleman. My condolences to his family, friends, and fans"

If they ever did a Justice League International it should be INTERNATIONAL.  I always felt that the whole scope of the JLA could be much greater if they were the JLI and if they were in fact International, that would leave a gateway open for DC to not only create more international heroes which they so desperately need but it would also allow these global heroes to take a bigger stage.  My drea team of International heroes would be

Martian Manhunter -  (Leader, Heart and Soul of the JL)

Black Adam - (Powerhouse, Champion of Khandaq)

Wonder Woman - (Back Up Power, Princess of Themyscira)

Tempest II - (Great Power, Warrior of Atlantis)

Geo-Force - (Great Power, Prince of Markovia)

Plastique - (Explosive Power, Canadian)

Iman - (Tech Wizard, Mexico)

Vixen - (Animal Power , M'Changa)

John Constantine - (Magic Power, Britain)

Rising Sun - (Solar Power, Champion of Japan)

Negative Woman - (Covert Ops, Russia)

Thundermind - (Cosmic Power, China)

This is my Dream Team: the Big 12

Batman (Grayson)

Dr. Fate (IMO, the coolest charatcer DC has)

Mr. Majestic (Let's use some Wildstorm Characters shall we?)

Captain Atom

Starfire

Donna Troy

Flash (West)

Cyborg

Jade

Brainwave (The team needs a Telepath)

Negative Man (2nd coolest character)

Northwind

It's time to let the Silver Age characters of DC do their own thing and let the younger generation take charge.  I went ahead and added 3 more slots and if I were writing the team, I would drop "of America" off and just call them the Justice League.

Death is absolutely necessary if you want to tell a great story... it's even more impressive if they stay dead!

Sometimes coming back from the dead is a better story like Bucky Barnes, who was thought dead but was alive the whole time.  The story that explained what happened and how he was still making an impact was great!

On the other hand, Hawkeye's comeback was just weird.  His reason for dying was stupid anyway and then he's alive with a lame explanation?  A hero who can't fly escaped a spaceship that had Lord knows what powering it exploded and you are alive and well later?  Please!  Green Arrow was even lamer!  At least with Hawkeye they at least half way explained his return, with Green Arrow he just shows up one day looking like Billy Gibbons in tatters.

Bottom line is I never known anyone who came back from the dead in real llife and if anyone wants to talk about how realistic a certain comic book universe is more realistic than another comic book universe.  Impress me with realistic a hero's death is handled and how that effects the whole of the character(s) that are still alive!  Psychological stories about them remembering the dead character or the coping with the loss can be even better than the actual story of the hero dying... IMO.

Is it just me or do the FX look really cheap and cheesy?

I am a DC fan and love GL, and I want it to NOT suck so bad!

I'm just not feeling it, I hope that changes for me. o_O
