The Elf Prince
Born approximately three millenniums ago, Evandar is the son of the elf king Oromis and his wife Eltariel. The Wood-elves, or Silvan Elves, were known to be less wise and more dangerous than that of their High Elf cousins, but are nevertheless one of the most powerful and legendary of the Elves of Alfheim.
Evandar became a peerless warrior among the Elves of the Woodland Realm at a young age. Adept in the use of a bow, where he truly excelled was in the art of swordsmanship. He became renowned throughout all of Alfheim, and even proved the prowess of his swordsmanship among the warriors of Asgard.
Evandar spent his life traveling much throughout the Nine Realms on behalf of his father and Valenwood. As Prince of the Woodland Realm he sought to handle many political interactions between other Elven cultures on Alfheim and even affairs regarding the other races of the Nine Realms. Through these responsibilities Evandar acquired a wise and clever mind in addition to his quick wit and formidability with a sword.
Powers & Abilities
Physiology
Evandar’s physical appearance is very similar to that of men, however as an elf he is immortal. His body does not age since reaching maturity, so that he does not seem to become elderly and cannot die of old age. He can die from physical injury however, or he may come to death by wasting away if after eons of life he loses the will to live.
As all elves are, Evandar is exceptionally beautiful of face and body. His body maintains an ethereal grace and he is extremely light on foot. As an elf he possess physical attributes far greater than man’s, including enhanced strength, speed, agility, durability, and senses.
Swordsmanship
Evandar is regarded as one of the finest swordsmen throughout Alfheim. As the Prince of Valenwood, he received training since childhood from the greatest masters of the sword throughout all of Alfheim. He easily grasped every instruction he received, rising in skill and rank until few to no swordsmen in the Woodland Realm or all of Alfheim could match his prowess. It was then Evandar began challenging the warriors of Asgard, continuing to evolve his abilities with a sword by meeting blades with the gods themselves.
Archery
While mostly known for his skill with a sword, Evandar is nearly as adept an archer as he is swordsman. His precision with a bow is virtually faultless, as he is able to hit even the most acute of targets with fatal force from over four hundred yards away.
Evandar will often use his bow as his first weapon in combat, damaging his opponents as much as possible before defeating them in close quarters with his sword. His speed and grace as an elf allow him to draw and release arrows with super human speeds.
Magic
As all elves do, Evandar maintains an innate connection to magic. While many elven warriors choose not to partake in further apply their magic abilities, Evandar has spent much of his life refining these powers. Elves control magic, and in turn the world around them, by the use of their ancient language. Few outside their race can understand this language, and even those who do have knowledge of it cannot communicate with it in the way the elves do.
Evandar’s magic potential is as limitless as his creativity with its practices. Some of his capabilities with magic include healing, telekinesis, telepathy, elemental control, transmutation, and many others. Evandar will not resort to magic immediately in combat. He prefers to use his skills in swordsmanship or archery, and will usually only use magic as a defensive means against magic attacks.
Weapons
Sword
Evandar's most legendary and utilized weapon is a steel sword forged solely for him by the dwarves of Nidavellir. While the elves outclass men in the forging of weapons and armor, no race surpassed the craftsmanship of the dwarves. The most famous weapons of the Asgardian gods have all been born on Nidavellier, including Mjolnir and Gungnir. Upon his quests and glory in battle the dwarves saw fit to grant Evandar his own weapon of their making.
Forged from ancient and magic steel and adorned with the metals and gems of the dwarves, Evandar's sword is of unmatched grace and power. The blade is long and slender, allowing it to move with the elegance of its wielder so that it becomes an extension of his very body. His sword and the proficiency in which he uses it has outmatched many of even Asgard's finest swordsmen.
Auriel's Bow
The legendary bow of the half-god, half-elf Auriel. Tales of Auriel tell of an immortal archer who missed not one shot in the entirety of his endless life. He is said to have retired from life as a warrior on Asgard to live among the wild forests of Alfheim, where he has not been seen for millenniums. His bow was granted to the elven people, before being bestowed upon Evandar by the Lady of Elves.
Auriel’s Bow is gifted with the peerless craftsmanship of the elves and the magic properties of its divine namesake. Its arrows fly farther and swifter than any made before or after it. The bow is over six feet tall, and made from a single piece of golden heartwood from the trees of Alfheim.
