@dygoboy: And what the hell is Mercer going to regenerate from when his Biomass is depleted and he is suspended in the air not being able to do a thing to Galen?
Longterm damage is a thing keep sustaining massive damage with no Biomass to regen from what then happens?
Mercer dies.
Depleting Mercer of Biomass is step one.
Then there's the part of actually killing him, which you have to literally erase him. In which you have showcased that he isn't capable of.
And electricity doesn't damage him, it freezes him up like it would a normal human. With an interview with Denis Detwittler he cleared up that Alex's physiology is vulnerable to the current like a normal human is meaning that he spazzes out but doesn't take any damage. This is why Blackwatch has used cattleprods to sedate different infected, but even then a hydra (After getting hit by cattle-prod several times) stopped working on it.
The Supreme hunter Regenerated completely from a small puddle without any biomass, Mercer can do the same.
And if Gallen lifts him? Increase his own mass to the point where Gallen can't do anything. Then again there's always been questions regarding how the force's TK works on powerful beings.
But then again. Dude. You're not bringing evidence. Please bring evidence. Please don't waste your time making these statements if you're not gonna back them up with feats and statements from the games and novel then it renders all you say all a moot point. And by all that you're saying, you clearly have played Prototype but you barely know the very specific and small details of what makes Mercer or any other special infected tick.
And since this is Prototype 2 Mercer, he doesn't even have to fight Gallen, he can just release the virus and just let Gallen die off or turn into a mindless infected.
But what I really want here is for you to bring out evidence to back all of what you're saying. Starkiller is more likely to win, but you're high-balling his capabilities.
@dygoboy: I'll get technical with you then, StarKiller lifts him up with the force and ragdolls the shit out of him while shocking him with force Lightning.
And throws his saber into him for shits and giggles.
Throws a lightasber. Starkiller accomplishes nothing as Mercer regenerates.
Electrocutes him... He makes Alex go wacky and then?
I'm reckoning your new at this? Please back up your statements with proof.
@dygoboy: recommend you play the the Game again Mercer was on the outskirts of the Nuke when it dropped and it still turned him into a puddle also read the comics.
He wasn't on the outskirts. He did not, in any logical way be on the outskirts in less than 10 seconds, that would have required the helicopter to be several times faster than what it's actually supposed to be. It would be believable if Mercer could somehow run on water since he is faster than a blackhawk helicopter, but it's not Mercer running it a helicopter.
I've watched the scene several times and he was caught on the fireball, and it kept on coming and the scene simply cuts away to white once the pressure wave hits with the fireball very near him. The scientists post credit estimated the yield to be around 75 kilotons, but that's massively a lot lower than what realistically should be, which makes sense, since it's underwater.
And since you have played the game you should know that in the alternate ending the nuke incinerates the entirety of Manhattan and a good portion of the other New York islands despite being miles away from Manhattan. That's way more than 75 kilotons mind you, want me to get specific?
And the Comic did not make any reference to the nuke.
But either way, Starkiller isn't stomping shit without force lightning.
@ordeith: Mercer has shit resistance to Lightning and has never encountered anything that would incinerate he survives a Nuke by being on the very outskirts of it and it turned his ass into a puddle that a crow randomly ate which allowed him to return, StarKiller's Lightsaber is a big don't wanna be hit by but he has no way of dodging due to precognition and the force.
A Force Repulsion incinerates full grown men in armor with ease Mercer has an armored state but he likely wouldn't survive it.
So you're saying that a Force Repulsion is several times more powerful than a 75+ kiloton nuke? And he wasn't on the outskirts, he got hit by the fireball and he would have survived without the crow. I don't know where people keep getting this from.
What kind of Star Wars game did you play to think that a force repulsion even comes close to the power of nuke? Much less full on military assaults from different armaments to thinks that literally busts reinforced building structures with Mercer at the center of it, completely unscathed.
@killerwasp: Precognition and Lightsabers and Force Lightning stomps Mercers ass sorry this is the truth, regular ass human specialist cross managed to give mercer a fight with a damn stunrod.
I don't see your logic here. And he didn't end up giving him a good fight, he had men, had to take advantage of several infected, and he wore special Anti-Breach Armor which allowed him to survive two hits from Alex before going down.
Canonically Mercer held back against Cross without using any of his special powers so he could consume him and Cross had to resort to using Mercer's memory problem as a way to inject him with the parasite.
I can agree that Starkiller can beat Mercer and that he is more likely to win. But stomping? You're high balling his force capabilities without providing any sort of evidence as to how it can affect someone of Mercer's durability and healing factor.
I can agree with lightning, but everything else is up for the debate my good sir.
I'm pretty sure Heihachi shitstomps Wesker. I mean seriously, the guy deflects missiles (Wesker struggles to catch a single rpg) with his punches and kicks, dodges point blank gunfire after the bullets have been fired. Catches bullets with his teeth. Stalemated Akuma, survived the Wrath of the Raging Demon, survived getting thrown off a cliff...twice, getting his entire body plowed through a concrete wall by Jin, and survived a mountain busting explosion from all of those Jacks at the end of Tekken 4 as well as the ensuing flight he had afterwards.
I mean seriously, this man can aparently go super saiyan and stalemated a fully Devil transformed Kazuya at the end of Tekken 7 and tank and dodge said lasers. He also hits hard enough to even hurt Kazuya (the guy who earlier along with Akuma tanked and walked off the obliteration of the G-Corporation skyscraper they we're fighting in after).
I mean seriously, the low tiers to mid tiers of Tekken (guys like Bob, ) Dodge point blank gunfire from multiple assailants, you have Feng who basically punched and obliterated giant molten boulders. Pandas and bears who are capable of flipping limos into the air, bulletproof and explosion proof Jacks are absolute fodders here. Mid tiers like Brian who can toss Steel beams accurately enough to take out helicopters and rip out tank barrels...
@solarwavealpha@fitnesstribesman13: Sorry it took me so long. Been a busy week with my exams and nonstop dump of work. But I'm on holidays by Thursday so I'll have more than enough time to be here.
Units and purposes:
The current formation of soldiers will all serve individual purposes.
Blackwatch Commander:
Your Big shot Blackwatch commander. These are the guys that are calling the shots and are typically in charge of military bases and forces on the field. They have the right to burn down your house and then shoot your dog. And for good reason.
Outside of the genetically enhanced D-Code units and Specialist Cross, Blackwatch Commanders are toughest unit of the bunch if they're not using helicopters and armored vehicles. Each one of these men have at least a decade worth of military experience, and are expertly trained to dispatch infected. These guys are way more experienced than your average Blackwatch soldier and they're extremely accurate with a with a riffle or handgun (Evidenced by Alex Mercer accuracy becoming nigh impeccable after he's consumed a few commanders). Being able to easily kill several Walkers with headshots from afar with a mere M9 Berretta, before being overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of them.
These commanders are the ones that mainly come part within Special units such as the Wisemen Team lead by the Specialist Cross. With the sole purpose of hunting down and taking out and capturing Alex Mercer. Even though the team was mostly carried by Cross himself they proved to be more effective than the Blackwatch soldiers and actually managed to assist Cross within his battle against Alex Mercer for a bit with the use well placed formations and a lot of explosives and bullets. But they were quickly skirmished,
They also regularly come around with strike teams for ex
The armor that these commanders wear, specifically the second vest allows them to endure hits from Walkers (Superhuman zombies) though not by much of a margin as most of the time the walkers tend to stab through it than hitting it.
This commander will come equipped with a Mk.13 grenade launcher. The same one used by Captain Cross, which can shoot massive volleys of grenades at once before they all detonate in mid-air within close proximity to their target, the firepower behind this is more than enough to turn Walkers into bloody bits and send Alex Mercer tumbling.
This man will also wield a stun baton, or a cattle prod to be more exact. Pretty useful on incapacitating targets at close range, especially against Walkers when there are hordes of them.
He will be mainly using the M4A1 assault rifle with an M203 grenade launcher under-barrel for that explosive firepower when up against something like a Hunter.
Blackwatch Soldier
The standard mook Blackwatch soldier. Without going too deep, they're just well trained spec-ops and sometimes clinically insane soldiers. Even though they mostly don't have as much authority over people as the Blackwatch Commander, they can and most of times give orders to the Marines. Their trained extensively to use most weapons that they can get their hands on.
The four soldiers here will be using the M249 light machine gun. Armor piercing with high destructive potential with a pretty damn high rate of fire, capable of making quick work of Stage 2 Walkers and actually damaging a Hunter. They're surprisingly accurate with it despite the fact that officials claim that the effectiveness of the weapon is vastly reduced when used from the shoulder up instead being prone on the ground.
They will also have the Heckler & Koch MP5K sub-machineguns as sidearms just in case of an emergency.
Pilots
Without going too in depth, pilots are generally Blackwatch soldiers whom are specialist when it comes to operating military vehicles, whether it be helicopters or tanks they know how to operate them by the backs of their palm. They're generally better than your average Blackwatch soldier in several aspects but not by too much of a difference, and they typically wear the same armor with the only difference that the pilots wear a flight-suit beneath their armor. What really makes them stand out is their helmet. Which of course has (as standard Blackwatch armor) biohazard gear with a built in gas mask along with vision enhancing visors.
They will be bringing M16A4 assault riffles for suppressing fire and combat knives just in case the enemies get close.
The Marines/ Marine Officers.
Not much to be said about the marines. Everyone knows how they work and operate so I don't think that there's anything I need to elaborate on. They;ll be wearing the usual military camo fatigues with a baclava, bullet resistant helmet, tactical vest which doubles as kevlar body armor.
They will be bringing in the heavy ordinance. More specifically, the FGM-148 Javelin Missile launcher. These missile launchers are no joke, capable of easily blowing a hole through armored vehicles such as APCs and critically damaging M1 Abram Tanks this thing has an a heat seeking function just in case it needs to hit a fast moving target like Alex Mercer.
Much like the Marines, there isn't really much to be said about these guys either. You could say that they're the generals of military group. Obviously more powerfull and experienced to the point where they feel like putting on sunglasses in broad daylight with cap and their sleeves rolled up. This just screams out "I'm a badass! Come and get me!" It can be said that Marine officers are better than your average Marine in every way. And that's about it. Still does not compare to a Blackwatch soldier.
They will be bringing in the grenade launcher for that much needed extra firepower. This allows them to turn humans or walkers into fine red pastes and gives them a chance at taking on a Hunter. They will also have stun baton as a side arm just in case.
How they will proceed in the battlefield:
So as standard procedure, Blackwatch will go through monitoring their gears and such. The Commander will get 3 air-strike codes. The soldiers will get the much needed smoke grenades and extra ammo along with thermal and armor piercing rounds for the Blackwatch soldier and Marines for that extra firepower. All of this thanks to prep-time. And then they will move out and be supposedly dropped off on the field (I'm assuming that they get dropped at the freeway Spawn).
The Xenomorphs will be treated as if they were a new type of infected, and Blackwatch soldiers don't exactly go easy on any type of infected. They riddle just about anything that moves with bullets and explosives. But, looking at a Xenomorphs behavior, they will be more inclined to be stealthy than to be more straightforward like the walkers when not guided by Hunters or other higher league infected creatures, but the Tri-Vision goggles that the Soldiers wear will allow them to easily see the Xenomorphs in the dark, with night vision and thermals and due to their already established experience with the infected, they will be more than alert and anticipating for surprise attacks or some kind of ambush, because that is not uncommon for the infected to do.
Anyhow, the perks that the Blackwatch Squad has with the 3 scout drones will allow them to easily detect the Xenomorphs first and quickly form up a plan, or just bomb said squad of Xenomorphs once they're located, which will be very soon at this point.
Their suits have built in radio communication just in case they need to talk to other teammates if they split up, and their PDA (mounted on their wrists) keeps a big map of the general area they're in, so they should be aware of their surroundings so they don't get lost.
