This looks decent. I will give it a shot for sure. I don't need a major crossover between ARROW/Flash/Supergirl/LOT AND Black lighting, but I feel they should still be in the same Universe. My hope is that at somepoint CW does a CRISIS that integrates Supergirl and Superman into the ARROWVERSE. For the record, I wish DC would do something with Static Shock, even if it's just another cartoon series.

Is he actually trying to avoid Death?

Seems like it. She's with his son Thane now.

I thought it was a solid first issue, but there wasn't a single moment that really sucked me into the story. I kept reading only because I was so happy to have Richard back and was super curious as to how. This issue doesn't offer any explanations with Richard literary appearing out of nowhere with no memory of how he came back. It's way too vague for me. I assume they'll have to get more in depth as to how he returned in future issues, but Marvel hasn't done the best job with resurrection explanations lately (Doc Sampson). The final page does offer up some clues but this is only a theory of mine at this point. On the final page we see Rich flying only to pass out and some sort of entity escaping from his body. My GUESS is it is one of THE MANY ANGLED ONES from the Cancerverse, where we last saw Richard. Maybe this entity wanted to escape the Cancerverse and crossover into our universe only it couldn't on it's own. So it hitched a ride inside of Richard and returned with him. If you watch SUPERNATURAL they did something similar in season 8 with Dean and Benny. IF that's what happen then I think that's a great start. We shall see.

The issue is broken down into 3 parts. The beginning deals with Rich, the middle is all Sam, and then Rich at the end again, but it still feels like the issue is dominated by Sam. I don't have anything against Sam and I realize this book will feature both Novas, but I was totally uninterested in what was going on with Sam. As this point, having Rich back, I want answers and a heavy does of Richard Rider to start things off. The ending of the issue was promising but this is definitely one of the weaker debut issues of Marvel NOW!2.0

3 Stars.

I think it's a smart move to use Deathstroke. He's grown a lot in popularity in recent years. He's never been used in a Batman movie before, or any DCU movies so that makes him "NEW" to the movies and movie audiences. He's a legit cool character. His fighting skills are actually on par with Batman's. Introducing him this early leaves you with opportunities to feature him in future movies or if he's really successful then a solo film. I just think it's a great way to kick off a new Batman film series. Still waiting on Clayface, Hush, and Red Hood.

The problem is, Deathstroke should probably be outclassing Batman in everything except skill, which only lends to Batman knowing every martial art in the world. Which kind of makes fighting him physically a stupid thing for most anyone to do, but here we are.

Then you're making the case that Batman should NEVER get into a physical altercation with any of his villains because it's already predetermined that he's going to win. I could then make the argument that Batman is an expert in not only fighting, but dozens of other things which makes him a terrible character because he's clearly invincible to everyone :/
