Excellent, so is anyone else intrigued as I am about the disfunctional new roster of Thunderbolts being smack bang in the middle of the invasion?

Forgive me if this topic has already been touched upon recently but I just rejoined after some time away and the story arc is only new, however...

I get the feeling 'Infinity' has been brought about due to the not so news that Thanos will be featuring in a not so distant Avengers movie. Why not? Gives the chance for new comic fans to become acquainted with the ugly giant purple space elf, right? Good time to majorly bring him back into the fold? Me. myself, I never read any Thanos stuff in the past and only started to find out about Infinity through the Thunderbolts series.

What I want to ask is, are you excited for it, do you have any expectations, reservations etc? Do you feel it's too soon for another "world-destroying" major story arc, since we can't seem to go a couple of years without the world nearly ending and everybody being slaughtered, only to be resurrected without any explanation as to why or how?

And am I the only one that doesnt care that the Avengers are off elsewhere in space while this is going on?

Of course he's a relic, just like most of DC and Marvel's most established and travelled characters are, but he will always be relevant because he represents to DC what Captain America does to Marvel. He's not just a superpowered being, he's THE superpower (the USA), the old glory of a country founded on freedom etc. So even when he becomes irrelevant, he can still be used to symbolise poor political and military decisions in that country's current standing. That's also why nobody will ever completely replace our favourite classic leads either. Nobody represents something so huge so simplistically and there isn't a character that has the same impact today without counting on so much notoriety and modernisation to the point where their values become muddled.

@betatesthighlander1: Usually, but then sometimes people joke to hide secrets as opposed to just being silly. I like silly, not willy...
