@drellassassin: not like they haven't had enough time tho its been what a month and a half since the last secret wars? what are they drawing this up a week before its due?
It takes artists usually an entire month to do one issue. Plus with the issue 9 being added that's another one on the artist's plate.
Wait, "SRP: $4.99"? Well my interest in this book keeps going down the more I look at this preview...
When are people going to catch on that most Marvel series now debut with a #1 that is longer and $4.99? Then they begin the normal $3.99 from #2 on. This first issue of Doctor Strange is 28 pages.
I don't care if it's longer, $5 for a comic book is ridiculous. Comics increases use to be about 10% with each jump, so say from $2 to $2.25. Recently they jumped from $2.99 to $3.99 so a 33% increase. And then they start to jam the $4.99 and in some cases $5.99 down our throats. Sure there are a few more pages but it usually isn't worth it. $4 is my max for single issues no matter how many pages there are. Once a title goes to $5 i'm out. I'll wait for the trade. I think a lot of people will agree and do the same or worse, get out of comics all together.
I'm sorry I missed the part where they were forcing you to buy them. If 6-8 extra pages don't justify the $1 increase (for the inaugural issue only), then don't buy it, as you said. The rest of us will be over here enjoying the book.
